Online courses at Northwest Florida State College can be both rewarding and challenging. Some students find it harder to absorb course material for certain courses if they do not attend lectures during the week. In addition, it takes self-discipline and willpower to complete these courses. If a student can easily maintain their online courses in conjunction with regular employment, they usually do very well.

Some students take online courses, as well as courses on campus, in the same semester. Students seem to be able to keep up with this schedule by working their online course(s) between other courses on the same day, thereby attending a full day of class and avoiding procrastination.

Online classes may use in-person or online exams. Your instructor should explain how testing will be handled in his or her particular class, as well as when and where tests will take place.
