4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: The closer you want to live to campus the more expensive it is. The farther away from campus the cheaper the house will be.

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: They are pretty crazy, they are at houses and the bars in town.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There is a great variety of local restaurants that are around town but there are also chain restaurants so there is so known restaurants.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: They are always there when you need them, just a pone call away.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: It was pretty simple I got what I needed. it just took some time until I got it and waiting for it to apply to my bill.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Sometimes the food got repetitive and it might be a good idea to ask students what kind of foods that they would want. Otherwise there were good and bad days for food. You never knew what was going to be there. Need to keep the menu updated online so students know what the dining halls are serving that day.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: You really get to know people when you live in the dorms. It helps you to make friends and to get involved in things that go on around the dorms and on campus. The dorms are nice and you just share a bathroom with 3 other people. Some things that I did not like was that I took my housing survey for a roommate and the roommate I got did not have the same things that I was interested in at all and nothing matched we were the complete opposite, it was not a great fit. The cost was good and it was convenient to get to all my class.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Not many people go to games. We have the dome which is something other schools don't have. As a college athlete not many people go the games and even know where our field is.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Many of the off campus houses are old homes. If you want a really nice place a apartment would be better

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Mostly local restaurants and pizza joints will give students discounts. The pizza places will give discounts during hockey season.

3 College Freshman

Administration: It depends on what hall you live in and what RA you have.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I got what I needed. Now I just need to get more scholarships.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: It's good food, but they serve a lot of the same stuff. The bad thing is that depending on what dorms you live in you might have to walk outside to get to them.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The dorms are very close to campus. The only downfall is that there is old dorms and new dorms. Something unique to NMU is that in one of the dorm halls the Olympic athletes live with regular student.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Off-campus housing is not easy to find, especially good locations. Prices are okay, but only if you are willing to stay at a poorly maintained apartment. The nicer ones are generally expensive.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Most of the parties equate to some physical and social harm to students, yet they are well attended because there is usually drug/alcohol accessibility to underage users and addicts. Some parties may not have harmful contents, but can still be unreasonably chaotic.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Off-campus dining is pretty average. It involves chain restaurants, fast food, and private owned restaurants. A fair amount of diversity in a small town. The pubs are the most desirable.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: The policies are all enforced, but really if the students are caught. So really many students get away with havoc at times.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Overall, the food is reasonable for serving the mass of students. Most students enjoy the food, regardless of the poor taste and preparations. In the end, food is food, and the dining services are not highly creative and the food is not always palatable.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: At West Hall, the individuals are a band of colorful students, and this can be bad and good. For myself, I preferred to stay out of the social aspect of the hall, because it had inevitable consequences from being involved with these students. I did not feel like I belonged. I was fortunate to have a roommate that disliked me enough to find a more socially acceptable companion, which left me with my own room for the duration of the school year.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Off-Campus housing is a lot cheaper than the on-campus housing.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Parties in the dorms always get busted, unless it's fairly quiet and the RA's/ Public Safety can't smell anything. There is always a party in town that's usually in walking distance, they get shut down pretty fast because the cops know where most of the party houses typically are. Don't worry if you miss a party, there will always be another one.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Overall, the financial aid process was okay. The biggest obstacle I faced was dealing with some of the women at the Student Service Center. It was usually one or two of them who were fairly rude, other than that, I was pleased with the service I recieved.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Unless you live in West Hall, Spooner Hall, or the Summit/Center Street apartments, the Den is kind of a nice walk to get something eat, considering it's better than the Marketplace(MP) . The marketplace has some good days, but usually has repetitive menus of unwanted dishes, causing students to always eat at the Deli, Mongo (stir fry station) or salad and soup bar. Another thing to know is that all Freshmen are required to have the Constant Meal Plan, which is the most expensive.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are some great non-chain restaurants throughout Marquette like Vangos, Aubrees, Donkers, or Jean Kays. The traditional restaurants usually aren't open as late as Buffalo Wild Wings, Taco bell, etc. but there are multiple restaurants are great and never get old1
