4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Off-Campus housing is a lot cheaper than the on-campus housing.

Party Scene: Parties in the dorms always get busted, unless it's fairly quiet and the RA's/ Public Safety can't smell anything. There is always a party in town that's usually in walking distance, they get shut down pretty fast because the cops know where most of the party houses typically are. Don't worry if you miss a party, there will always be another one.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Overall, the financial aid process was okay. The biggest obstacle I faced was dealing with some of the women at the Student Service Center. It was usually one or two of them who were fairly rude, other than that, I was pleased with the service I recieved.

Campus Food: Unless you live in West Hall, Spooner Hall, or the Summit/Center Street apartments, the Den is kind of a nice walk to get something eat, considering it's better than the Marketplace(MP) . The marketplace has some good days, but usually has repetitive menus of unwanted dishes, causing students to always eat at the Deli, Mongo (stir fry station) or salad and soup bar. Another thing to know is that all Freshmen are required to have the Constant Meal Plan, which is the most expensive.

Off-Campus Dining: There are some great non-chain restaurants throughout Marquette like Vangos, Aubrees, Donkers, or Jean Kays. The traditional restaurants usually aren't open as late as Buffalo Wild Wings, Taco bell, etc. but there are multiple restaurants are great and never get old1

Administration: Public Safety is pretty great! Just for everyone to know, they're not security guards, they are actual police officers for the state of Michigan, disrespect them and you will regret it. They are extremely friendly and reliable though and they treat everyone equally!

Campus Housing: Living on campus is pretty awesome. As long as you make an effort to connect with other people on campus, you'll easily make great friendships. Dorm life is also pretty awesome, the RA's are extremely friendly and resourceful. There is always something to do on campus or get involved in!

3 College Freshman

Athletics: I enjoy using the PEIF and attending the Dome for football games and Band Day.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I have never lived off campus, considering I am not a Junior yet.

College Freshman

Party Scene: I am not a party person, so I do not know where to go to for parties. But I see pictures posted of my hallmates drinking & etc. on social media.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Vango's, Frosty Treat, the local bowling alley, and Aubree's are all great places to get great food. Although, Aubree's more on the expensive side.

3 College Freshman

Administration: They try to be strict, but kids will be kids and I've seen or have been told about a lot of alcohol and drug use.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I got a $2,000 scholarship for over 4 years, which really does help but with my GPA I wish I could receive more.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: I like that there's always a variety, but gluten free options suck and I think they should be open to everyone and not locked up.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I love the location; it's right by Lake Superior! So far all my teachers have been excellent, classes are challenging, and there's always something to do!

College Student

Campus Housing: I have only visited graduating in June 2015 and admitted to NMU Fall of 2015

Scholarships: It's so hard to find scholarships

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Coming to Northern was a great choice, even with all my friends and peers from home telling me otherwise. It has been fun, and I'm glad I decided on here. It is a nice school, and I would hate to leave it.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Honestly, Northern's professors and classes are very good. The classes help you learn what you need to learn, and the professors are excited to teach you and help you.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The career services can help you find a good career within your field.

2 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Safety wise, I usually feel safe walking around. But the campus authorities try to sweep sexual assaults under the rug and not inform the public the way we should be informed.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I'm not quite sure about off campus housing as I have to live on campus for another year and have not looked at it yet.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are many restaurants and fast food places around the town, and many have student discounts.

3 College Freshman

Administration: The strictness on campus is fairly good, when they catch people and take it seriously.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: Honestly, I do not go to parties. If anything, I party with my friends in my dorm room, not that its really a party.
