Academic Flexibility: I was able to work full-time while also going to school full-time because of the flexibility in class hours.

Overall Experience: I'd go back to NIACC if I had to do it all over again. I feel I've gotten a quality education for the price.

Online Courses: The Angel software is best utilized when there are drop boxes versus discussion forums. The online classes differ in how well they utilize Angel.

Student Body: A lot of people party and don't care about school. It's hard to be in class with people who don't care about the material.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition is low and the help is plentiful. My second year I didn't have to take out any student loans, which was really nice.

Career Services: I will not be utilizing the post-grad services so I'm unable to say whether or not they're of high quality.

Academic Experience: NIACC has a lot of classes tailored for the school I'll be transferring to.

Academic Experience: I would like more education classes so I could get them out of the way now instead of filling my load with filler classes.

Campus Resources: NIACC provides most of the services listed above.

Academic Experience: The academics offered at the school are great. Most professors are very passionate about their courses and their students. There's a wide variety of programs to choose from, and the registration processes are quite easy. Depending on how many credits and such, the workload can be easily manageable. We have a great Ag, Nursing, Auto, and Business program.

Academic Flexibility: The best thing at NIACC is how their credits transfer between schools, especially ones like Iowa State and the University of Iowa. At most of the colleges in Iowa, NIACC has a direct transfer program, which makes it incredibly easy to transfer your credits. With the courses offered on campus and online, flexibility has been great and convenient.

Overall Experience: NIACC is a great place to start your college experience. With small class sizes and instructors who truly care about your success, it makes it a good place to be. I would definitely choose this school again if I had to do it all over, given I would also choose a different path right away instead of taking so long to decide what I want to do. But thank to NIACC, I figured out what I do not want to do, which helped lead to where I do want to go. NIACC is truly unique with how diverse it is and just the over all atmosphere of the campus.

Overall Experience: Overall I've had a great experience with the courses and professors at this school. There's been both extremes of incredibly great courses and teachers, and terrible courses and teachers, but it's mostly been great. The class sizes are all very small, smaller than my high school sizes, and most of the teachers get to know you fairly well. I've always had great relationships with almost all of my instructors, and the courses that I've taken, except for maybe two, have been of good quality. There's a wide variety of courses offered, including face-to-face, online, or hybrid courses, which is very nice.

Overall Experience: Most people graduate from NIACC and go straight into the workforce. We have a lot of programs on campus designed specifically for that, like the Auto program. The Ag program here offers a lot of job/internship opportunities, thanks to our great location in Iowa. Overall I'd have to say that we have a great opportunity for finding a career soon after graduation thanks to a degree from NIACC.

Online Courses: I have not had good experiences with online courses, but that I just because I am not good at keeping up with them. I know other people that have been extremely successful with them, and I do know they are very easy to register for and with the school's ANGEL program, it's decently user-friendly technology. Things like workload, professor/student relationships and peer-to-peer interaction depend heavily on the instructor and the course itself.

Student Body: We have a very diverse student body with quite a few of foreign students. It's surprising how many students are from out of state/country because of our location in Iowa, but everyone gets a long really well and with the diverse population, we have a very unique and fun culture at the school.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition here is pretty decent for what I'm using it for. I got a lot of credits out of my highschool's affiliation with the college, having to pay nothing to get nearly a year of college completed. It's really nice how NIACC has those programs in a lot of local high schools. They offer decent scholarships too, some automatic based on ACT scores or how many credits you've earned in high school. With my experience in most of my classes, I'd have to be honest and say that I don't feel like I'm getting an education worth the tuition I'm paying, but I know that's not how everyone feels, and I know my opinion is based on a only a couple instructors that have made it like that.

3 College Senior

Career Services: I haven't had much involvement with the career services here, but I do know there are quite of few people who have a lot of success with finding jobs right out of here. Most people come here to go through the one program and immediately go out into the workforce.

Campus Resources: We have really great resources here on campus. We have an impressive athletic center and a student learning center with tutors always willing and ready to sit down and help you in whichever subject you need. They really do want you to succeed here at NIACC by providing programs like the TRIO program to help students out. We have good athletic events and also various music and other entertainment as well.
