3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I do not live on campus, so I am not aware of resident student use of drugs beyond passing knowledge. I am aware of significant alcohol and marijuana usage, which tends to be typical on college campuses.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The drug scene at NC State is pretty minor. The majority of students at the school do not participate in the use of drugs. Those who do partake in alcohol use are above the drinking age.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: I have never seen anyone directly participate in drugs or alcohol on campus. Some of our dorms are wet dorms but, people are discrete and private about that part of their life.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Most people drink, but no one will pressure you to if you don't want to. Drinking citations are very easy to comeby, and drugs in dorms are usually taken pretty seriously.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: The only time I've actually seen under aged drinking were at the "house parties". When I lived in the dorms I never say anyone smuggle alcohol, but I had heard commentary that people (underage) would have a few drinks.

Drugs do not seem prevalent at NCSU. Alcohol consumption is more of an issue than drugs. Like anywhere else, you will have a bad egg in the group, and those who are addicted to drugs are somewhat easy to pick out of a crowd just by appearance. You won't hear of any underground drug trafficking here, nor is there much hardcore drug use. At parties, you will have your occasional pot smoker, but this, again, will depend on the type of crowd.

There is no heavy pressure to partake in drug use. It is easy to steer clear of drugs on and off campus. To get involved, it almost seems as if you would have to do research to figure out where to get any, or who even does drugs.
