Off-Campus Dining: Student Discounts – More Students discount should be applied for student

Greek Life: The review of this community must have taken place 8 years ago and hasn't been updated since. We have 52 organizations on campus with about 10% of the students affiliated, graduating at higher rates than non-affiliated students. Last year we did 64,000 hours of community service and raised $135,000 for charities. Greek Court is being torn down and replaced with new housing. Its a great time to be Greek at NC State!

Athletics: Good Times – Our teams may not always win, but the fans are always having a great time.

Greek Life: Greek Housing on campus is nice, but a lot of people attach a stigma to those they know in Greek life that might not always be representative of that individual's true character (however in some cases it is).

Technology: Our library has endless access to high quality computers and up-to-date technology. They also provide assistance in helping you learn to best use the technology and its programs

Transportation: It's Great – Even though there might no be much in the way of parking on campus, NCSU offers many park and ride bus options. They have their own bus system as well as deals with other bus companies to make bus rides free for NCSU students

Administration: It's Alright – NCSU has some strict rules, don't get me wrong. But for the most part, they're lax on a lot of things. They're pretty darn hash on parking violations, though. Those parking tickets add up after a while.

Greek Life: Greeks are Missing – The Greek life on campus is so low profile one would think it was gone. I personally only know one person who was in a sorority but she transferred schools after a year. The Greeks keep to themselves and hangout with themselves. You have to know a Greek to even get into one of their fundraising events. Greek Court and Greek Village are essentially closed areas for non-Greeks, not that anyone would notice at all.

Party Scene: Lots to Do – Of course most of the bars are for people 21 and older, but there is a lot to do on and off campus. Get a ride from the Wolfline Night Service buses to go downtown, which is minutes away, and find loads of things to do. Many activities among students can also be found.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: Lots of Fun – Raleigh is a great city with many diverse activities held constantly. Go to the state fair for good classic fair fun, exciting rides, and delicious southern food. There are many Indian cultural events held nearby like Garba. Support for State's football team is tremendous here you'll soon be full of Wolfpack fever. All the people are very nice and helpful.

Drug Safety: Most people only drink and/or smoke. Most drugs aren't that popular here.

3 Recent Alumnus

Guys & Girls: There are a lot of friendly and nice guys on campus. Many of them major in engineering, but you'll usually see them doing homework or working hard in the computer lab. There are also party animals, of course.

Health & Safety: Not Bad – I feel safe most of the time while I was on campus. Sometimes there's robbery. Then again, if you walk around on campus by yourself at 2-5 in the morning, you increase your chance of getting robbed. If you have to be out at such early in the morning, use campus escort please.

Overall Experience: Excellent place to be for the ambience of a learning environment. It inspires me to be a better person.

Diversity: NCSU is home to many different type of students. It ranges from different races from around the country to differnet cultures from around the world.

Campus Quality: North Carolina State University campus is vast and spread out over a great area. It is a very beautiful campus with the natural landscaping and red-bricked buildings.

2 College Senior

Campus Food: Beware the Vending Machines – Vending machines are typically overpriced and with the convenient card readers allow you to quickly drain your student account without realizing it.

3 College Senior

Campus Quality: Less Promiscuity – In 5 years at State I cannot recall seeing one girl walking campus at 7 am in her pajamas. Take your pick on if that is good or bad.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Move Away from Campus for Better Deals – I have lived off-campus my whole time at State and have known others who have done the same. If you can get parking or close to a bus stop, try to live about 3-6 miles from main campus. The prices level out and you start getting better quality for your dollar.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: School Spirit Rocks! Everyone at the games gets very into cheering, and it's a lot of fun.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Best Dorms – Living in the honors quad is probably the best option. People really get to know each other, it's quieter than anywhere else on campus, so you can study when you want to without distraction, and if you want to be loud and party, you still have the option to go out. It is very convenient to live in the dorms on central campus, but those tend to be the loudest and craziest.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Good Professors! I have had good professors in almost all of my classes, the few exceptions being TAs for labs and some intro level classes taught by grad students. There is actually a really good English program here, even though the school is mainly known for its Engineering.

Weather: When It Rains Its Not the Best Thing to Get Caught in! Overall the weather is awesome, there are 4 seasons and in rains and snows! However be careful when walking around campus in the rain because the bricks to get very slippery! If there is nice weather there is always people playing sports or reading/working outside!

4 Recent Alumnus

Parking: Sometimes it can be hard to find a parking place in the certain area of campus that you want, especially before 5pm! but the wolfline is always there to take you to and from different parts of campus.

5 Recent Alumnus

Drug Safety: Best School Ever! We'll I might be pretty bias but NC State is the best college I could ever imagined going to! There is so much to do and everyone is so nice, all of you professors are willing to help, there are tons of tutoring options avaliable on campus (that are all included in your tuition!). There is always something going on in the Brickyard and there is so much school spirit! It is hard not to fall in love with this school!

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

Overall, the students' experience with NCSU is that it provides them with a rich learning environment. Students learn to balance play and work. Some come to NC State because of family tradition, to get away from the cold, or because of the College of Engineering-but whatever the reason is for the individual, positive feedback always finds its way out. Professors at the University will go above and beyond their call of duty. You make lifelong friends, and you have a huge list of organizations to partake in. Whether you're involved in a college sport, student government, or the Agribusiness Club, you will find your niche here among the thousands of students. Some professors will take you under their wing, and you will learn enormous amounts of information from them. These professors will also become lifelong connections who will probably end up writing letters of recommendation for you when it is time for you to find a job.

NC State wants its students to succeed not only in academics, but in life, too. Here you learn important lifelong skills that are essential to your survival in the real world. Classes can be rigorous and stressful, but students find a way to overcome hardships and get through. Professors will push you to do your best, but at the same time, they understand what it was like to be a student. NC State will help you become an expert in your subject of choice, and with the large number of students, you will come out of college ready to work in some of the most diverse settings.
