Off-Campus Dining: Mostly Asian or Italian food that is not good or desirable.

4 College Senior

Campus Housing: I think living in campus housing is always little more expensive than sharing room with someone out of campus. Personally I have never lived on campus, however it does have a lot of advantage like allowing students to walk to school. And for NC State University, I think the amenities, and the social atmosphere are well organized, so I will say they are excellent. However, the parking rules are not very pleasant particularly when it comes to receive a visitor...

Drug Safety: Most public area and including private around the school are very respected you rarely see is people smoking regular cigarette... Never seen anyone use alcohol or any other drug.

4 College Junior

Technology: I have never had trouble finding a computer on campus. I usually go for the smaller computer labs, like in the FYC building or the Laundry building. The library has tons of computers, plus laptops available for rent and renewal. It is easy to connect to the network and is always quick. I always have my personal computer, but choose not to bring it to campus for safety reasons. Printing costs ten cents for black and white, but if you don't do a lot of printing it is affordable, more so than buying ink.

4 College Junior

Majors: I absolutely love my International Studies major and CHASS college. Now that I am a junior, I am learning about the world more constructively, and learning about the gray area issues we have instead of just black and white. It is challenging me to not just see the world as I see it, but from several different viewpoints. I've had some wonderful professors who are extremely intelligent. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Majors: The majors at NCSU are great; they are diverse and encourage constructive thinking and reflecting. I know from experience in the college of humanities and social sciences that they are growing on the motto of living globally, which is very helpful for the future homogenization of the world.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: Most of the people on campus appear to be from the same background. A majority are white males and females.

Health & Safety: There appears to be a large amount of criminal activity but students are warned of this. The police are very effective and I feel they do a great job. The campus seems to be very safe in my opinion.

3 College Student

Greek Life: I really hate every thing Greek Life stands for. That being said NCSU isn't the worst of them all. They are mostly respectable.

4 College Student

Drug Safety: Not really that prevalent in my friend group. Some of them do drugs but after I say I don't want any they never offer again. Very respectful and no peer pressure.

3 College Student

Majors: Pretty easy. Just make an appointment with someone in charge and they will tell you what you need to do.

4 College Student

Majors: I'm very happy with my microbiology program here at state. I plan to go into research and development when I graduate. Or maybe get a graduate degree.

3 College Student

Majors: I'm at NCSU and I love the microbiology program here. The directors are very friendly and helpful and are really willing to help you where ever you need it.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There have been many wolf alert recently due to robberies and crimes however the school sends out timely notices.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: Always something to do downtown.
Not all college students due to the many young professionals that work in Raleigh.

3 College Sophomore

Parking: Finding a parking spot can be like looking for a needle in a haystack at some points, especially on weekends when anyone can park anywhere, but there are those moments where there are tons of open spots to park in. Because there are buses running all through campus, and off campus at night, there isn't a big need for a car on campus.

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are plenty of off-campus dining options on both Western and Hillsborough Street, on both sides of campus. Almost every place delivers late, for those nights you are up studying late and get a craving for something. Prices are all reasonable for the amount of food you get and there are some student discounts.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The best places to eat would be Talley or the Attrium because the dining halls don't have the most appealing food choices and their options become repetitive. Dining dollars are great because they help when your meal goes over the equivalence amount.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: Wolfline buses are free, safe and convenient. There are plenty of routes, and they run very regularly, just not on the weekends during the day, which can be slightly inconvenient. City buses, for which students can order a free pass, also come on campus, but I do not have personal experience with those.

Weather: Raleigh is known for its mild weather. We do not have the snows that the mountains have, so classes are rarely cancelled. If the weather is rainy or really cold, we can always take the university buses to classes and the city buses elsewhere. Even if I decide to walk to class in the snow, it is not difficult because the campus grounds are so flat.

Campus Quality: I am in the engineering program at NC State. I am fortunate that this program offers tutors through the engineering department which makes it easy to get that extra help. The school is continuously updating facilities like the current space age renovations to the student center. Also, I am from a small hometown with limited opportunities, so being in the capital city of North Carolina is amazing! There is always something cultural or fun to do here! My parents did not allow me to bring my car to school for my freshman year, but, not to worry, schools buses take me all over campus and city buses are available for anywhere else.

4 College Senior

Technology: The computers labs, although nice at NC State University, are extremely crowded, particularly around midterm and finals. All of the computers have wireless access. The only downfall is you have to pay to print.

4 College Senior

Local Area: The local atmosphere is my much better than at where my alma mater for undergrad was. There are several nearby colleges and universities in the Triangle area. In addition, there are so many options as far as shopping and events are concerned.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: The Office of Public Safety does an excellent job of keeping the campus secure and notifying students when malicious activities occur. Most schools keep such activities under wraps without alerting students.

5 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: Off-campus dining options are amazing near my school. There are so many options no matter what type of food you are in the mood for. There is a Zaxby's, Chipotle, Pita Pit (very healthy), Chile Bomba, Planet Smoothie (great smoothies and they offer daily NCSU discounts), FreshBerry Frozen Yogurt Cafe, etc.

Overall, the students' experience with NCSU is that it provides them with a rich learning environment. Students learn to balance play and work. Some come to NC State because of family tradition, to get away from the cold, or because of the College of Engineering-but whatever the reason is for the individual, positive feedback always finds its way out. Professors at the University will go above and beyond their call of duty. You make lifelong friends, and you have a huge list of organizations to partake in. Whether you're involved in a college sport, student government, or the Agribusiness Club, you will find your niche here among the thousands of students. Some professors will take you under their wing, and you will learn enormous amounts of information from them. These professors will also become lifelong connections who will probably end up writing letters of recommendation for you when it is time for you to find a job.

NC State wants its students to succeed not only in academics, but in life, too. Here you learn important lifelong skills that are essential to your survival in the real world. Classes can be rigorous and stressful, but students find a way to overcome hardships and get through.
