Majors: I have not had an internship but I plan on having one soon. I do not have very many concerns in finding an internship because I am only a freshman and am currently interviewing for an internship this upcoming summer. I have worked and am currently working for Vector Marketing.

Majors: Receiving admission into the Poole College of Mangement at NC State was relatively difficult this year. The admissions representatives wanted to see GPA's of 4.0 or better. They were also wanted to see a variety of extra-curricular activities and see evidence for leadership potential. The application process was very efficient and simple. Make sure you have a wide variety of extra-curriculars, and competitive GPA, and a relatively high SAT or ACT score. Try to get a 1700 or better if you take the SAT.

Majors: I feel very accomplished and well privileged to be apart of the Poole College of Management at NC State. I enjoy the program so far because I have built many relationships and being apart of the college of management at NCSU allows me to affiliate myself with a wide variety of job and internship opportunities.

Majors: I have only completed one semester at NC State but so far I am satisfied with the program. I had great professors in my classes this fall and learned alot of information in a wide variety of subject areas. I also had very helpful and instructional professors who wanted students to do well in their classes. I attended the career fair this semester and was very impressed with NC State's connection to a wide variety of successful companies both domestically and internationally.
Currently, I plan on going into some type of business that will have a large impact on of the lives of others. I enjoy helping other people and want to use my knowledge and skills to give back to my community. I believe I will accomplish this goal through starting a non-profit organization, owning my own business, or through some sort of sales.
I have some concern that I may have trouble finding a job in my field.

Technology: With a variety of computer labs all over campus, there is nothing to complain about at NCSU. Residence halls have lounges with computers, divided evenly between Macs and PCs, just like the library on north campus. DH Hill is as innovative and modern as any library can get and once you get to the learning commons, you realize how many options you have. Not only do we have desktops, you can also rent out iPads, Macs, and laptops for a limited amount of time to get some quick projects done, or even to simply check your email.

Administration: I haven't had any run ins with anything illegal, which says a lot about the strictness of the school. If you get caught underage drinking, which many people do, you'll have to take several alcohol education classes as well as paying fines. The police are super strict about everything, but it helps to make the school safer than many others.

Weather: It is now November and winter coats aren't seen. Compared to states up North, the weather here is fabulous. It is never blistering hot and never frostbite cold. People are always seen outside on hammocks during the warmer months and in the winter, the cold is nothing gloves and a scarf can't battle.

Off-Campus Dining: Most of the restaurants that are off campus are close to school, mainly located on hillsborough street. You have anything from fancy restaurants to fast food places. Many sponsor school events, therefore there are coupons given out regularly. The cost is fit to a college students budget and truthfully available whenever you want. Located in front of NCSU on hillsborough Street are two very neat coffee houses that people should definitely check out! Perfect for a date or just to have some quiet while studying.

Transportation: Transportation is great at NC State University. The Wolfline runs every 15 minutes or faster, depending on the bus number. The buses run from 6:00 am to 3:00 am., taking students around campus, downtown, and other areas.

Scholarships: The scholarship opportunities at North Carolina State University are great, if you are a resident of North Carolina. The Scholarships & Financial Aid website gives a list of scholarships students can apply for, dependent upon interests, major, and grades. If you are out of state, scholarship opportunities are better through outside resources.

Diversity: NC State University is extremely diverse. There are so many nationalities and religions represented on campus. The best part is the campus is very accepting of diversity. Just a month ago, Student Government Association handed out t-shirts to the student body labeled "I <3 Diversity".

Athletics: As far as I know, varsity sports are a pretty big deal at NC State University. We have great workout facilities and training units.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: We are known for our athletic department. If you're not involved in the school sports, you can also be involved with intramural sports.

4 College Sophomore

Local Area: Everyone is so friendly and the campus is so diverse. We're 5 minutes from downtown which has everything to offer.

Greek Life: Greek life at NCSU seems to be fun. I see many students with their Greek shirts and bags. It's not a big deal if you're not in a frat or sorority. They definitely don't push it on you.

4 College Freshman

Technology: There are plenty of computers available always in the library at State

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: The drug scene really isn't too bad at State. I've talked to my friends that go to colleges in upstate New York and they say it's so bad there

3 College Freshman

Administration: Unless you out yourself out there to get in trouble, you should be fine

Guys & Girls: The guys here a ridiculously good looking! I love my boyfriend, but I always find myself staring at all of the attractive guys!

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I didn't receive any actual aid, but I did receive loans. It went smoothly and fast.

Local Area: Raleigh is an amazing city with plenty of activities. I usually don't feel entirely safe when I'm walking around late at night. Sports have been good, but they should be getting better. I absolutely love my school, and I can't wait to have a couple more years here.

3 College Senior

Athletics: Overall, I'd say the facilities (ex: RBC center, training facilities, gyms, tracks, etc) are excellent, but our teams haven't been that great.

3 College Senior

Parking: There are parking decks, but they cost money to use. The only good way to find free parking is if you apply for a parking permit, but even that costs money (a couple hundred bucks!).

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: They have a variety of off campus housing options.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: There are several parks, shopping areas, and theaters that help provide a fun night. Located on Hillsborough Street is even an old time bowling alley that is fun. People in this area are normally very nice, including the college students.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

Overall, the students' experience with NCSU is that it provides them with a rich learning environment. Students learn to balance play and work. Some come to NC State because of family tradition, to get away from the cold, or because of the College of Engineering-but whatever the reason is for the individual, positive feedback always finds its way out. Professors at the University will go above and beyond their call of duty. You make lifelong friends, and you have a huge list of organizations to partake in. Whether you're involved in a college sport, student government, or the Agribusiness Club, you will find your niche here among the thousands of students. Some professors will take you under their wing, and you will learn enormous amounts of information from them. These professors will also become lifelong connections who will probably end up writing letters of recommendation for you when it is time for you to find a job.

NC State wants its students to succeed not only in academics, but in life, too. Here you learn important lifelong skills that are essential to your survival in the real world. Classes can be rigorous and stressful, but students find a way to overcome hardships and get through. Professors will push you to do your best, but at the same time, they understand what it was like to be a student. NC State will help you become an expert in your subject of choice, and with the large number of students, you will come out of college ready to work in some of the most diverse settings.
