Campus Housing: Campus housing is abundant. Dorm communities are tight and there is programs and stuff to do.everyday

Party Scene: There are not many parties on campus but off campus apartments ans feats/sororities frequently have large parties

Campus Food: Our university dining experience is amazing. You have so many options in so many different locations that it's sometimes over bearing. With the new student center opening up with new eateries, it has become the new craze for the students to enjoy yet another place to eat good food and hang out friends.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: If you live on campus, you have access to all the information on events going on around campus. You get to be closer to your friends and your classes.

Transportation: There are a surplus number of buses but some of the buses don't run as frequent and you can't park on campus without getting a ticket.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: Certain areas on campus aren't as lighted as they should be and feel as though more can be done to protect the students.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: It's pretty decent especially if you're a person that doesn't like to share bathrooms. There are single, 2-, 3-, and 4- bedroom apartments and townhomes. The further you get from campus, the less the rent will be. The closer the apartments are, the higher it will be.

Majors: The cirriculum is pretty rigiros but most of the classes are beneficial in some way. I LOVE my major because I love every aspect about nutrition.

3 College Junior

Majors: Most internships under my major are unpaid so it's really hard to do them for free and you have bills to pay.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Even though their is plenty institutionalized racism at NC State, the majority of the faculty and students are pretty welcoming.

3 College Junior

Weather: It's North Carolina so, whenever it decides to rain it will rain and whenever it decides to be a nice day it will be a nice day. It's even possible to have both occurrences in one day.

5 College Junior

Technology: if you need a computer, you can find one, its just all in a matter of knowing where to look.

3 College Junior

Academics: It is somewhat hard with dealing with the chemistry and biology classes. Other than that, our major classes are quite interesting!

4 College Junior

Academics: We have so many options to choose from in reference to majors and minors. Also, there are a ton of classes covering all the major languages, religions, and interests.

Off-Campus Dining: There are so many restaurants that sit on the two streets that encase the main campus making them only walking distance for students.

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: There are not that many instances of drug abuse on campus, that I have seen. When I do hear about drug use, it's usually at parties.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: It was a little tedious because we have to do it every year and submit all the right forms. What made it such a hassle was the fact that it was sort of unclear as to which documents to submit.

5 College Junior

Campus Quality: There is a mass amount of diverse organizations on campus that any one person would have a hard time choosing which one to commit to.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: The bus system is convenient if you are at the right spot at the right time. It typically gets overly crowded and certain routes only have two or three busses which causes a delay.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I always feel really safe during the day, but at night time I am more weary to go out.

2 College Freshman

Scholarships: It takes forever to do all the paperwork they want. It seems like every other day I was having to submit a different paper or do something else online.

5 College Freshman

Weather: The weather is so much better here than it is in Florida!

3 College Freshman

Administration: They are strict about weird things. They care way too much about parking and underage drinking. It's college everyone is going to drink at some point. But they are very lenient about the opposite sex coming over and visiting.

Parking: PARKING SUCKS. The enforcement officers are all jerks and legit walk around and ticket people who are parked in different spots then their permit allows but there is never any spots with the pass they have. Also I normally have to park out in the middle of nowhere when I get back from practice late at night and it's sketchy as hell.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: There is a lot to do in Raleigh. The people here are all pretty nice too.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Overall, the students' experience with NCSU is that it provides them with a rich learning environment. Students learn to balance play and work. Some come to NC State because of family tradition, to get away from the cold, or because of the College of Engineering-but whatever the reason is for the individual, positive feedback always finds its way out. Professors at the University will go above and beyond their call of duty. You make lifelong friends, and you have a huge list of organizations to partake in. Whether you're involved in a college sport, student government, or the Agribusiness Club, you will find your niche here among the thousands of students. Some professors will take you under their wing, and you will learn enormous amounts of information from them. These professors will also become lifelong connections who will probably end up writing letters of recommendation for you when it is time for you to find a job.

NC State wants its students to succeed not only in academics, but in life, too. Here you learn important lifelong skills that are essential to your survival in the real world. Classes can be rigorous and stressful, but students find a way to overcome hardships and get through. Professors will push you to do your best, but at the same time, they understand what it was like to be a student. NC State will help you become an expert in your subject of choice, and with the large number of students, you will come out of college ready to work in some of the most diverse settings.
