Guys & Girls: NC State has a lot of attractive people. People from various backgrounds, and a lot of different ethnicities. It would be really hard for you to not make friends. Also a lot of the people are really nice and Southern.

Transportation: The buses are free. Just get on and go. Since the campus is so big there are mulitple lines going to the different areas. Some even drop you off fairly close to your classes. The CAT bus also stops on campus, so if you want to go to the mall or somthing they will take you pretty close.

Off-Campus Dining: There are tons of food places on Hillsborough. Most are really delicious some not so much. There is a lot of variety, so you're not stuck eating at the same place all the time.

4 College Junior

Administration: Besides where one can park, there are not many rules that affect me.

4 College Junior

Technology: The library is open 24 hours a day during the week which always allows me access to working computers/printers.

5 College Freshman

Majors: The process of getting into the Engineering College is rather simple. C+ in Eng101, Chemistry 101, Calculus 1+2, E115 (Intro to Computing), and E101 (Intro to the Engineering College). Of course the better you do in those classes really help your chances of getting in.

5 College Freshman

Majors: I'm extremely happy with North Carolina State University and the organization. They have everything extremely structured and laid out for new students and students looking to matriculate quickly. I hope to get a job with a large tech company and I have little to no concern on the subject. It should be pretty easy with internships, my natural charisma, and my intelligence.

5 College Freshman

Majors: I plan to have an internship as a Computer Science Major so that I can have valuable on the job experience and to further my chances of getting a good job upon graduation. I don't really feel like I will have too much trouble with finding one seeing as how there are dozens available.

Off-Campus Housing: There are so many places to live off-campus. Even if they are not within walking distance, public transportation is so convenient! Price ranges and quality vary. It just depends what you are looking for.

Parking: Parking on campus is expensive, and often times the spots are not that close. I did not have a car freshman year and just waited until I lived off campus. You really do not need a car. Public transportation is great down here!

5 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I love my dorm and all of the events they plan to help us get to know each other. Almost everything on campus is a ten to fifteen minute walk from my dorm and we have plenty of buses to get to where we're going. The only problem is the train track right behind my dorm. It wakes me up in the middle of the night and interrupts my thoughts in the middle of the day.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: I mostly got grants from NC State but the scholarship office helped me with the paperwork for my outside scholarships. I even had one scholarship donor who forgot to send the money until after the spring semester started and they still allowed me to use the scholarship money from that donor.

5 College Freshman

Administration: If you really want the education, you won't mind the police being everywhere all of the time. I appreciate their presence because everywhere I look I see a blue light and I see cops quite often so I know I'm safe. I don't think the dorm rules are too hard to follow and most of them have obvious reasons like don't throw footballs in the hallway because you might hit the sprinkler and water would come pouring out. For the most part, the strictness keeps stupid people from doing stupid things and I like that.

5 College Freshman

Campus Food: I use the dining hall a lot, specifically Fountain Dining Hall. They always have fresh, well cooked food. I also like that we have Chick-Fil-A and Taco Bell on campus. It keeps you from getting tired of having dining hall food all of the time. They also have a pizza place, a smoothie place, a sub sandwich place, a few ice cream places, and 3-4 places to get coffee. There's plenty to choose from.

5 College Freshman

Parking: For me at avent ferry, I can park right next to my dorm with ease, for only 200 bucks/year

5 College Freshman

Academics: I'm looked up to as an engineering major. The workload is tough but I know it will be rewarding. And there's tons of working opportunities

4 College Freshman

Technology: During dead week you would have better luck going to nondescript buildings and using their computer labs than the DH Hill Library on main campus. The new library on the engineering campus is revolutionary, high tech labs everywhere and plenty of space, not to mention the Bookbot

5 College Freshman

Diversity: I know students from China, India, Australia, Russia, and even Finland campus is a plethora of different people with different customs and beliefs

5 College Junior

Technology: Plenty of macs and pcs available! You will need your own laptop but you can also rent. Hunt Library on Centennial canpus is state of the art. DH Hill is convenient to main campus classes. There are labs available all over campus and in class buildings as well as dorms. Printing can be a hassle, you must open a all campus account to be able to print.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: I recommend living on campus at least your first year! Tucker and Owen are fun but the bathrooms are gross and there are often loud social events outside which can be detrimental to studying. Turlington and Alexander are also wonderful. Avent Ferry is a little far from classes unless you are a natural sciences major. Avoid the Tri Towers. Though a little far from class, Bragaw is a great option. For upperclassman, check out Wolf Village Apartments!

4 College Junior

Weather: In August when classes start its still rather hot but from september to december is really nice. It usually is cold january to mid march, and then it warms up a lot! We do experience rain often especially during january but we have a bus system so it wont stop you from going to class :)

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: There are many different ethnicities represented in terms of gender on this campus. With that being said, everyone has their own style.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: The strictness on campus is taken seriously to those that make severe violations. Any wrong doings will be hold accountable.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Most of the apartments are not close enough to campus to walk, however, they do have busses that transport students to campus.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Most of the dining halls are good. However, the food can seem redundant and it gets old.

Overall, the students' experience with NCSU is that it provides them with a rich learning environment. Students learn to balance play and work. Some come to NC State because of family tradition, to get away from the cold, or because of the College of Engineering-but whatever the reason is for the individual, positive feedback always finds its way out. Professors at the University will go above and beyond their call of duty. You make lifelong friends, and you have a huge list of organizations to partake in. Whether you're involved in a college sport, student government, or the Agribusiness Club, you will find your niche here among the thousands of students. Some professors will take you under their wing, and you will learn enormous amounts of information from them. These professors will also become lifelong connections who will probably end up writing letters of recommendation for you when it is time for you to find a job.

NC State wants its students to succeed not only in academics, but in life, too. Here you learn important lifelong skills that are essential to your survival in the real world. Classes can be rigorous and stressful, but students find a way to overcome hardships and get through. Professors will push you to do your best, but at the same time, they understand what it was like to be a student. NC State will help you become an expert in your subject of choice, and with the large number of students, you will come out of college ready to work in some of the most diverse settings.
