Technology: -Most dorms have mini computer labs. And the library has TONS of computers to use (Both laptops and desktops)

-lots of free software

-Wifi doesn't always work in brick buildings

3 College Sophomore

Weather: It's typical NC weather. Beware of the bricks on rainy days. They become super slippery.

Campus Housing: - All housing depends on your specific dorm. If you live in the tri towers, your will be close o classes but have a tiny room. If you live in AFC, you will have a large room, but a long walk to classes

-Most buildings have been renovated in the past few years, so everything in new.

Campus Food: -Location is everything. f you live in AFC then you are a bit far from campus dining

-Case has the healthiest food, but is restricted to athletes for dinner

-Dining halls close at 8pm

Administration: -Some dorms allow alcohol, and some don't. Some people hide alcohol in their dorms without problems. As long as RAs don't see it, you're good.

-Some classes take attendance and others don't

-Never seen anyone cheating or get caught cheating, so idk what happens.

Diversity: Alot of people think that NC state is diverse, but it's NOT in my opinion. Majority of students here are white, christian and conservative. I wouldn't recommend NC state to anyone who is different or looking for a school with alot of diversity.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Overall, the students' experience with NCSU is that it provides them with a rich learning environment. Students learn to balance play and work. Some come to NC State because of family tradition, to get away from the cold, or because of the College of Engineering-but whatever the reason is for the individual, positive feedback always finds its way out. Professors at the University will go above and beyond their call of duty. You make lifelong friends, and you have a huge list of organizations to partake in. Whether you're involved in a college sport, student government, or the Agribusiness Club, you will find your niche here among the thousands of students. Some professors will take you under their wing, and you will learn enormous amounts of information from them. These professors will also become lifelong connections who will probably end up writing letters of recommendation for you when it is time for you to find a job.

NC State wants its students to succeed not only in academics, but in life, too. Here you learn important lifelong skills that are essential to your survival in the real world. Classes can be rigorous and stressful, but students find a way to overcome hardships and get through. Professors will push you to do your best, but at the same time, they understand what it was like to be a student. NC State will help you become an expert in your subject of choice, and with the large number of students, you will come out of college ready to work in some of the most diverse settings.
