Campus Food: There's plenty of options to choose from. Food is alright in the dining hall, prices in Talley are a little high though.

Administration: Very fair, in my opinion.

Campus Food: Exactly what you'd expect on a college campus... Not outstanding but not terrible. Enough variety so you don't get too bored.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Close to everything, welcoming environment.

Off-Campus Housing: Trying to find a place off campus is absolutely ridiculous! The price to live in a one-bedroom apartment is constantly going up in price, and is really unaffordable for a college student. Even living with roommates is difficult! Pricing and availabilty is so crazy, I feel as if more financial aid should be considered for students living off campus!

Off-Campus Dining: Although the cost of the restaurants are slightly higher than most, the options are good. Compared to eating on campus, I would rather eat off-campus because the options are better and the cost isn't too much different. Eating on campus gets so expensive.

4 College Junior

Party Scene: If you have friends that live in an apartment, that is definitely the way to go. Or by the pool in the spring and summer months. However, downtown is fairly decent. The cost of going downtown is crazy a lot of the times unless there is a drink special. Uber and Lyft have definitely helped in taxi costs as well.

Administration: NCSU does a wonderful job at protecting its students. I feel as if the administration sets policies that respect the students, as well as keep them as safe as they can. However, when it comes to snow days, the decision process is a little iffy.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: It is often that you can talk to different people and get a different answer to the problems you are having. There have been many times that deadlines given have been different, and that seems to complicate the process.

Campus Food: Eating food on campus is a wonderful thing as long as you have a meal plan. For students who don't have a meal plan, it is kind of a rip off. It often times ends up being cheaper to go to Hillsborough street for high quality for the same price.

Campus Housing: As a freshman, living on campus is definitely the way to go! You are better able to be around people that are in similar situations (i.e. being away from home), and you are better able to join in on social activities. During my time in campus housing, I felt very welcome and was able to make friends a lot easier than when I moved off of campus.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I have many friends who live off campus/who are living off campus next year. The prices are good, there are tons of options, and anyone can find an affordable place.

Off-Campus Dining: Since NC State is right near hillsborough street there are many places to eat

5 College Freshman

Party Scene: I have enjoyed a fair share of parties during my freshman year. If you want to go out, someone you know is probably going out and you can tag along. There are tons of parties downtown, at frats, at apartments/houses and off campus. It is very easy to find a party and if you can't you can always go clubbing.

4 College Freshman

Administration: Campus regulations aren't very strict. As long as you aren't running around blatently drunk they won't say anything. Many of the dorms are "wet" meaning you can have alcohol there if you're over 21. Most teachers don't count attendance as very much of your grade. If you get caught with drugs or alcohol you will be kicked out of housing. Parking is majorly annoying and if you park somewhere you aren't supposed to for 20 minutes they will slap on a ticket. All dorms have 24 hour visitation and anyone can come and stay whenever without any sort of check in.

Overall, the students' experience with NCSU is that it provides them with a rich learning environment. Students learn to balance play and work. Some come to NC State because of family tradition, to get away from the cold, or because of the College of Engineering-but whatever the reason is for the individual, positive feedback always finds its way out. Professors at the University will go above and beyond their call of duty. You make lifelong friends, and you have a huge list of organizations to partake in. Whether you're involved in a college sport, student government, or the Agribusiness Club, you will find your niche here among the thousands of students. Some professors will take you under their wing, and you will learn enormous amounts of information from them. These professors will also become lifelong connections who will probably end up writing letters of recommendation for you when it is time for you to find a job.

NC State wants its students to succeed not only in academics, but in life, too. Here you learn important lifelong skills that are essential to your survival in the real world. Classes can be rigorous and stressful, but students find a way to overcome hardships and get through. Professors will push you to do your best, but at the same time, they understand what it was like to be a student. NC State will help you become an expert in your subject of choice, and with the large number of students, you will come out of college ready to work in some of the most diverse settings.
