Academic Flexibility: I did not transfer anything.

Online Courses: I like that I have the option for online course. I know not all classes would work online. But it is nice to take some on my own time.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: I like that I can transfer to another college.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: Registering here was quick and easy.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: I am learning a lot here.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: I really enjoy going to Normandale. I work full time and they have classes I can take around my work schedule.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Professors go above and beyond to help you succeed when you ask for help.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: I haven'd much association with the post-grad services here seeing as I am still in the middle of completing my degree and eventually I believe I will use these services when it gets closer to the time that I will graduate.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I've had many classes that were great. The professors cared, the class was what you would expect at the college level, the variety of class options are more that what I would expect for a community college, and the class sizes are pretty average for a college setting.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: I put okay for the reason that I haven't really started my specific major. I took some general education classes that apply to the program but I haven't started any of the actual classes. From what I have noticed the program seems to have a lot of opportunities to further your career, and the workload is pretty good for the major that I am going into.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: One of my favorite experiences at school was when one of my professors told us that he used to be a professor at Harvard. He said that the community and student life at the community college was much more appealing than that of Harvard. Yes, his class wasn't easy, but he was a phenomenal professor. Community colleges seem to be looked down upon but I would have to say that this school has to be one of the best with the most caring professors, and inviting students.

Academic Flexibility: Normandale is not good at holding your hand and walking you through things when you first start. The first time I registered and actually using the school's website is really confusing at first. Everything is vague and even the office staff act like you should already know these things.

Online Courses: Online classes are way better for me. Makes it easier to balance life: school, work and kids. I do not recommend classes over summer semester though. They cram the same amount of work in to half the amount of time. If you were just a college student, it may be ok. But school, work and family made this something I will never do again.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Class sizes are manageable! Every class that I have taken besides biology classes were very engaging and the teachers were down to earth and easy to learn from. Biology- Anatomy and Physiology were tough classes, but the instructor I had also didn't dumb things down to make them understandable. He was the professor and if you didn't understand...tough luck.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Most everyone knows how hard it is to get into the nursing program at Normandale. So it shows dedication to be accepted.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: it is super competitive to get into nursing. In fact way too competitive. Makes you want to give up. I have applied twice and got rejected. So I am moving on to a different school that will take me right away.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Most of my teachers and classes have been great.

But a few of the biology staff expect you to know and learn way more than is needed and are not very good at breaking things down so things are easier to learn.

Online Courses: People like online classes because they are convenient, but there are some negative features, too. You miss out on the social aspects of in-class courses. I believe the social side and learning to deal with all sorts of people face-to-face is a huge downside of online classes. If you want the most out of a class, I'd take it at the school. This is not limited to Normandale's online classes, I'm speaking in general terms. Online classes are just not as good as the real thing.

Career Services: In one of my writing classes, we dedicated one class to going to Augsburg and learning about the BFA program there. The English teachers will answer any questions about the transfer process or job prospects, because you actually CAN do a lot with an English degree.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: I will focus on the classes I attended to fulfill my creative writing degree. The writing classes tend to have smaller class sizes, which I prefer. In these smaller writing classes, peer-on-peer relationships develop into close friendships and the student-teacher relationship is also stronger. The English department professors are some of the best professors at Normandale. Many are published authors in poetry and fiction. They truly care about their students, especially the ones in the AFA program.

Overall Experience: Normandale is a two-year college where many students receive their associate's degree and transfer out to four-year colleges to further their education. I would consider Normandale a stepping stone and not the end of an education. They do have shorter term programs that are more career-oriented and designed to get the student into a career faster, so there are many opportunities for people at Normandale.

As for internships, these can be found right at Normandale! I completed an internship as the Fiction Editior of the school's literary magazine, the Paper Lantern.

Academic Experience: At Normandale I just finished my AFA degree in creatve writing, so to fulfill that specific degree I took many writing classes and literature classes. It has helped me prepare for transferring to my new school in the fall to get my BFA in creative writing.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: This was the right choice for me. Normandale is understanding of the nontraditional student who is not straight out of high school and has many other life demands, such as jobs and children, although many traditional students also decide to start their education at Normandale. The teachers are excellent. They are intelligent and caring. I have enjoyed all of my classes since my first semester there. I graduated on Monday with my AFA degree and Normandale has given me the confidence to continue on to my BFA.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: I think I like science area. Especially, I am surprised the size and curriculum of Biology lab. It's helpful to spread excited feeling of new world with high education and modern facilities for students. I was really impressive when I first came here.

3 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: When I first applied I was nervous my college credits from high school weren't going to transfer because they took a long time to process my transcript.
