2 College Freshman

Academics: I am thinking about changing my major just because our department is poorly funded.

3 College Freshman

Academics: The academics offered at my school could be better. The workload is not bad at all but the professors could work harder at teacher their students.

3 Recent Alumnus

Academics: The film program is quite easy as are the general classes. Workload is normal. Teachers are okay.

3 Recent Alumnus

Academics: It's mostly Agricultural and Engineering. Those are better programs. The broadcast journalism program is quite nice and I hear the film school is decent as well.

2 Recent Alumnus

Academics: The English department have some savvy faculty, they all know their stuff, but advising is passed around between them, sometimes you get a good advisor, sometimes you get an advisor who just randomly recommends interesting classes without checking your progress toward the degree. The faculty are eccentric and full of personality.

Somehow they have attracted some interesting names in creative writing who teach some great classes. Getting published is still a catch 22.

As mentioned, they still subscribe to the "read and discuss" philosophy, so I'd say only 1/3 of the classes give you a good lecture / notes on the history, impact, and critical response for a particular author or work. It's somewhat "touchy-feely."
