We do have many different flyers around campus discussing these type of issues and every now and then we have a campus police officer ride around. In addition we also have the Pete's Pickup which a great resource when your on campus late Sunday through Thursday. However; on the weekends those services are not offered. If you work late on campus you have no choice but to walk up by yourself. In many campuses in California they have help buttons throughout the whole campus and I believe that would benefit our campus if we were able to install these around campus as well. Lastly, we lack in the amount of cameras around campus. Many buildings don't have them inside and more importantly there are almost none outside which is where many assaults and confrontations occur!

I am a college student, returning to college after 20 years. Mature students as myself and students entering college right after high school graduation are in abundance here at the DACC campus. The professors take a real interest in you and your education. The professors will help you out in any way to help you succeed. Resources are abundant here and everyone is here to help. I admitt I was ridden with anxiety, anticipating if I could fit in. I have no doubts. I know my goal of graduating with a BA in Criminal Justice. One of the most important aspects of attending college is the balance between my home and my educational goals. I am married and my husband is disabled due to two debilatating strokes. My daughter passsed away almost three years ago. I adopted two of Stefanie's four boys. I have the oldest son and the youngest. My two other grandsons live with their father. I am being taught skills to assist me in my college life and studies. Tutors are provided free, there are many student service areas. The computer lab has excellent computers and an individual's work can be printed for free! The university and it'scompanion community college. There are a variety of classes and majors to intice anyone to pursue their dream.

The computer system on campus is superb! Even during finals week you will find at least an open computer available to use. There are over 10+ computer labs on campus with at least 20+ computers in each lab. Don't forget the library has lots of computers to use even has a digital display of which computers are being used and which computers are open for availability, so you don't have to waste your time walking about looking for an "open" computer. The printing is available all over campus. You don't necessarily need to be in a computer lab to print. If there is one plus for the university it will have to be the computer labs available.
