Guys & Girls: There are the 0.01% of people at the university that are your typical snob that loves only one thing and hates everything else, but the other 99.99% of people at that university are fantastic.

Guys & Girls: Almost everyone here is a little nerdy in their own way, which is cool.

Guys & Girls: In the Architecture building, the ratio from guys to girls is a bit wild that it can be better, yet the work and other activity make it bad for anyone to join.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: The students are very social. During the warmer weather the green area of the campus is always packed with people hanging out and playing music. The friendships I have made on campus are very good and well all try to help each other as much as possible.

To put it in a simple way, the average NJIT student does not have a lot of time to contemplate the dating scene. The ratio of guys to girls is about 4 to 1 anyway, so it is difficult to start relationships. As a general rule, the few available women are either shallow and promiscuous or so focused on their studies that they do not have enough time to date. Guys are neither promiscuous nor reserved; they tend to be neutral until an opportunity presents itself.

Students tend to relate well due to similar interests or club involvement. Since NJIT has a very focused curricula, it is easy to relate to another student over a difficult course or a mutual interest not explored by normal academics at NJIT, such as writing or musicianship.

Social Scene
The various fraternities and sororities throw parties every Thursday, and there is a plethora of events on campus for students to relax and enjoy themselves. Outside of this, the social scene is limited to groups of people hanging out, bonded by mutual interest (majors, residence hall, hobby, love of _____, and other such things).
Hookups or Relationships?
With guys outnumbering girls at a 4-to-1 ratio, there isn't an overwhelming number of relationships on campus. Even when students date, it is not, in most cases, serious.
Dress Code
Students are expected to be "decent" for class, which means covering the particular body parts that one would keep covered in any public situation. This means keeping your crotch, buttocks, and breasts concealed from public view. Other than this, there is no rule in place instructing students how to dress.
