To put it in a simple way, the average NJIT student does not have a lot of time to contemplate the dating scene. The ratio of guys to girls is about 4 to 1 anyway, so it is difficult to start relationships. As a general rule, the few available women are either shallow and promiscuous or so focused on their studies that they do not have enough time to date. Guys are neither promiscuous nor reserved; they tend to be neutral until an opportunity presents itself.
Students tend to relate well due to similar interests or club involvement. Since NJIT has a very focused curricula, it is easy to relate to another student over a difficult course or a mutual interest not explored by normal academics at NJIT, such as writing or musicianship.
