Campus Food

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The meal plan wasn't as good as I thought. The amount of food they gave you wasnt a lot, for a student to communicate in campus. They were other places open such as taco bell, subway, or food trucks around the corner, if you did not had money you couldn't afford to buy an extra meal.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The food served at GDS is repetitive and usually substandard and it closes way too early during the week.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: For some people, it does get old after a while. It's not the best, but it's definitely good and still very edible. Some of my friends who don't go to this school said they loved the GDS food. I only eat breakfast and dinner at GDS, and I get the same foods all the time, but for me, it doesn't get old.

Campus Food: Someone found a cockroach in the food one time

3 College Junior

Campus Food: GDS is decent. People don't realize that it's actually a lot better than some other college dining halls I've been to. It gets repetitive but it's edible.

There is a vast array of dining options available for students at NJIT. The options span many different cuisines and are accessible at many different times. Students can dine at any period between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. The most common source of food is the Main Dining Hall in the Campus Center. This is a buffet-style dining hall where students can come eat at any point of the day. While there is a wide variety of food that changes from day to day, it sometimes lacks the quality that students look for.

While options are available for kosher, vegan, and gluten- or lactose-free diets, the majority of the food in the Main Dining Hall is not marked in accordance with these diets. Even many vegetable dishes must be questioned, as they are sometimes saturated with butter. The other dining areas have options that are better marked for those with special diets, yet the offerings are more expensive. They also contain less variety, as the menu at places like the Trattoria or Taco Bell does not change.
