3 College Senior

Athletics: Popular sports at NJIT are basketball and volleyball, and a new athletics center is being built.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Sports are good here. We have many Division 1 teams. I am planning to join a team come the fall semester

4 College Junior

Athletics: The athletics at our school definitely bring us together as a college. We get very involved and show our support all the time. Definitely a plus when it comes to this school since a lot of us are there for academics.

3 College Senior

Athletics: Sports aren't the biggest thing at NJIT and right now our gym is 40+ years old so it's really out dated, but a $100 million dollar new gym is being built and it looks really promising, it should open by Fall 2017 so by then the athletic facilities can be rated as an A+.

3 College Student

Athletics: i do not really pay much attention to the athletics but they do have outstanding athletes that help give our school a good reputation.

NJIT is a Division I school with a wide variety of intramural sports, including fencing, soccer, and volleyball. Anyone interested in both sports and engineering could definitely look to NJIT to satisfy those desires. Most of the facilities are up-to-date or state-of-the-art. NJIT has an indoor and outdoor track, numerous studios, a pool, and a weight room that many enjoy using on a routine basis. However, the volleyball court leaves much to be desired.

While many attend games, few celebrate any noticable school spirit. The wearing of school colors is a rarity outside of those who are wearing sweatpants or jackets with the NJIT logo on them. Even many athletes find themselves feeling apathetic toward the sports programs and the aspect of school spirit. The scholarships offered to student athletes are small in comparison to those offered for academic merit.

Best Place to Take a Walk
While it is difficult to find a nice place to take a walk in Newark, there are two parks within walking distance, and the path there is safe. Military Park and Washington Park are both nice and can be good places to study, as well.
