NJIT is a Division I school with a wide variety of intramural sports, including fencing, soccer, and volleyball. Anyone interested in both sports and engineering could definitely look to NJIT to satisfy those desires. Most of the facilities are up-to-date or state-of-the-art. NJIT has an indoor and outdoor track, numerous studios, a pool, and a weight room that many enjoy using on a routine basis. However, the volleyball court leaves much to be desired.

While many attend games, few celebrate any noticable school spirit. The wearing of school colors is a rarity outside of those who are wearing sweatpants or jackets with the NJIT logo on them. Even many athletes find themselves feeling apathetic toward the sports programs and the aspect of school spirit. The scholarships offered to student athletes are small in comparison to those offered for academic merit.

Best Place to Take a Walk
While it is difficult to find a nice place to take a walk in Newark, there are two parks within walking distance, and the path there is safe. Military Park and Washington Park are both nice and can be good places to study, as well.
