4 College Freshman

Administration: They are strict where they need to be. They aren't over the top or unfair but they enforced rules so students do break them all the time. Punishments aren't too bad either depending on what rule was broken.

4 College Sophomore

Administration: No complaints as of yet besides the obvious bureaucracy that you'll find at any sizable institution they pretty much get the job done just fine.

4 College Freshman

Administration: Some of the college's policies are a bit difficult to understand at first, but once you hear their explanation of said policy, you'll understand the university's point of view almost instantly.

3 College Junior

Administration: When it comes to common exams the administration is pretty strict with grading. Especially in math.

The atmosphere at NJIT is, in most cases, lenient. The RAs tend to look the other way on most minor things and operate by the rule of "don't let me see it or smell it." The police are nice, very relaxed, and easy to talk to. They do their job well, but they also don't make their presence stressful to the students. Visitors must be signed in by a resident and present a photo ID when entering a residence hall.

In terms of academic integrity, the administration is very strict about cheating on tests or homework; it's also stern about underage drinking and drugs. Serious disciplinary action, if not expulsion, may occur for such infractions. For freshmen, three lates count as one absence and three absences result in a drop of one letter grade in the class that the student misses.
