Tuition & Financial Aid: Financial aid could have helped out a little more.

Campus Quality: NECI is located in an awesome town with lots of great shops!

Academic Experience: The chefs in general are ver knowledable and are excellent at what they do with the exception of a few that are impatient and bitter.

Academic Experience: There is a set curriculum that everyone follows with no extracurriculars.

Overall Experience: The education I recieved here was phenomenal however the financial aid office is extremely disorganized. I was sending my remaining assignments to someone who had stopped working there months prior and they had failed to inform anyone of this or resolve the issue. They also overdrew my account by charging me insurance after I had left campus and failed to inform me until I was $7000 in the hole. To make things worse they td me I could fill out a fafsa to pay for the now outstanding debt, which I did, only to have them tell me a whole month later I had filled out the wrong one, by which time it was too late to fill out the correct one. Now im being hassled by debt collectors for $12, 000. This school is not worth going to for that reason. Their offices are far too disorganized to do any good. I recieved my education but still have no diploma to show for it.

Campus Resources: There are no sports or clubs whatsoever. Sometimes the residential advisor would have dodgeball or volleyball in the gym.

Academic Experience: I am a culinary student and in the beginning you were with the baking and pastry as well but then you split in the second semester. I think this is a good approach because in the introductory classes it helps you realize what you would like more and gives you the opportunity to switch "majors" if you find you are interested in the other. The culinary workload isnt bad at all. Right now i dont have much homework. I have only had one paper due in the past 6 weeks. The first 6 weeks if the semester I had a paper due every week but it was only one page long and it was really the only homework. No matter what degree or major you are doing you have to do an internship and the career services staff is very helpful in helping you find one that will best suit you.

Academic Experience: There is a lot of hands on learning. The teachers are very involved and the curriculum is excellent. There are classes that could have been online courses such as IT, but you really do learn a lot from them. In your second semester here you are working in the cafeteria and working the line at the school restaurant. They teach you how it is and what it is to work in a restaurant.

Tuition & Financial Aid: There are different financial aid officers for the AOS and BA degrees. The officer that helps with the certificate and AOS is very helpful and she does her best to help you out and does what ever she can. The officer for the BA degree however is very hard to get in touch with and she will not keep you updated with when you owe money. I personally had a fairly smooth experience but i have heard from others how horrible their experience was.

Student Body: There are a wide variety of students here. We have students here fresh out of high school to 50 year old career changers. It is a very nice variety. A lot of people I have spoken to have said they did not expect to make friends when coming here but are very glad it happened. There are a lot of volunteer opportunities and most of them are working along side the chefs at NECI

3 College Junior

Student Body: The student body is a little rough around the edges but it comes with the field. They are all hard-working, many are introverts, but all of them are very passionate about food.

4 College Junior

Career Services: NECI does a fantastic job getting you prepared for real life, earning a paycheck, and planning career steps that will allow you to progress in you life professional.

4 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think it is well worth the money. There are other schools that offer the same program for twice the money. So far my experience is that they are very caring and you are not just another number to them.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: Very knowledgable and accessible answers questions throughly.

3 College Sophomore

Online Courses: I have yet to have an online course at NECI. you only receive a course once on internship.

Campus Resources: We don;t have a Greek system nor sports. I think it would be beneficial to get more of these college events involved. We have a weekly open gym, but it is through a rented building not ours. I really appreciate our librarian and library, easy access and open late hours 6 days a week.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Great library resources and anyone is willing to help with a project or assignment. We don;t have a computer lab but we do have 4 computers set up if someone needs to use one.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: My school has a great educational program and great teachers to back it up. But the staff and management system is bad.communication is extremely bad and trying to get one task accomplish takes weeks not days.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: Today was my first day going to sign up and to learn more about the culinary program. The tour of the school was amazing and everyone seemed to get along great. The staff was very helpful and friendly with giving me the information I needed.

5 College Junior

Career Services: We have a career service staff member who is always finding employment for students. Many opportunities brought to our attention and resume help is available.
