Academic Flexibility: Unfortunately, with my major there is usually only one class offered for those major specific courses. Yet, after I choose those courses I am easily able to work my general studies classes around them, since there are usually more than 5 offered. I do not have any problems with scheduling and I have had a teacher helping me with choosing my courses for transferring to another school.

Online Courses: I only took one online course. It's not my favorite thing to do, but there wasn't anything I truly hate about it. Just personally, I enjoy being with people and on campus. Yet, the online course was very easy to use and the teachers contact you weekly to remind you of your studies and even post how to do something if someone is struggling. We are all able to comment on these posts which makes it very helpful if we want to ask the teacher another question or thank him for reaching out.

Career Services: I have met many people in my field from field trips, internships and so on. I know many of them are willing to take students in, and if they don't our school has a career center that always puts out jobs, and even have people standing in the hallway who are literally looking to hire students on the spot.

Overall Experience: Classes are always a reasonable size, meaning every student has the opportunity to meet with the teacher individually to receive the help they need. The professors are always willing to help, even during their office hours or through email. We have almost everything to study at NVCC and almost all of our courses are transferable. I have never met a teacher who wasn't there to assist me. Even teachers I don't know smile at me in the hallway. Everyone at NVCC are there for the students.

Overall Experience: I easily got an internship while attending this school. Mostly because people know we are dedicated students and we have an interest in furthering our education in the field. I know without a doubt I am going to transfer after I receive my associates degree so I can further my education. Although, many students can get a job with an associates degree from NVCC. This school is fantastic in giving people the opportunity to further their education, or get a degree in something to help them get a job fast.

Academic Experience: At NVCC, my studies include a lot of hands on work as well as book work. This is fantastic for someone like me because I learn by doing. Having book work is never a problem either because the professors we have are well educated and know that they are there to help us, not just to make money. After a year, I got an internship working at a facility that does landscaping for properties near a lake. During this internship, I was able to earn college credit. I learned so much there and now I can use that knowledge in my future classes at this school and other schools as well. I am very happy in this major and I'm grateful that a community college offers it.

Overall Experience: When I applied to NVCC I had no plans of attending school at all. I had no outlook on what I was planning to do with my life. When I chose Horticulture as my major, I honestly knew very little about it. Yet, after my first year, I have met the most amazing people, helpful teachers, and am learning something that I find no stress in at all. As a result, I am excited to transfer colleges because this school gave me such a better outlook on education.

Academic Flexibility: It is difficult to rate this, as I have yet to transfer out. I will be going through the process of graduating and transferring credits within the next few months so if possible I will update this review then.

Online Courses: I have not had the chance to take an online course myself, but many of my close friends in the department have. Based on their experiences, it is a bit more difficult online because of the lack of guidance you get sometimes. The distance makes it tough for some people, while others enjoy the freedom and leisure you get. I think it all depends on your learning preferences, but for the most part I have heard good things.

Career Services: I cannot say much about the post-grad services at the school just yet as I haven't yet used many of them. However, I can say that we do have a vast variety of resources at the school to help with exactly that.

Overall Experience: The professors here are great! First off, the dance program here is amazing. The head of the department is an incredible teacher as well as academic advisor who cares for each one of her students individually. She is fantastic at helping you plan ahead and I have received amazing training in classical techniques from her. Outside of the dance department there are people just as great that I have been lucky enough to meet. Many of the professors teach at other schools like Yale or UCONN and give us the same syllabus they use at those schools for our classes. The classes can be challenging, in a good way. Teachers here treat you like an individual, you aren't just a number and that is one of the best parts.

Overall Experience: The application process is simple and easy. If for any reason you don't understand something along the way there are tons of people around to help you with anything you might need.

Academic Experience: I have been challenged in both my academic classes and my arts classes equally as hard. The professors there care about the success of their students and are more than willing to help them better themselves. The best thing about the classes is that they are small, so you know your professors well and can build lasting connections and relationships with them.

Overall Experience: My experience at Naugatuck Community College has been nothing but incredible. For such a small school they have so much to offer their students both with their wide selection of programs and extracurricular activities on campus. I have had professors from UCONN, Quinnipiac University, and Yale teach me in my academic courses. I have been challenged in the classroom, engaged, encouraged, and most of all been accepted. This school offers students who might not be able to go to university yet-for whatever reason, grades, financial status,etc.- and helps them get there, or at the very least prepares them for when they make it out there. I have nothing but love for this school and I would recommend it to anyone wishing to go somewhere relatively affordable with great programs and great education prospects.

Academic Flexibility: The colleges courses offer a wide range of times for students for the most part, but with smaller and more specialized fields it is a little bit harder to work around them. Like for instance, the art(traditional and digital courses), musics, and sciences are more difficult to work around due to their limited availability, smaller class sizes, times, and professors.

Academic Flexibility: The flexibility that the schools courses offer are pretty well handled. There is a pretty decent size of class times and days to work around for the most part but in some fields like the arts(traditional and digital), sciences, and musics scheduling was more difficult due to the smaller and more limited availability of the classes and professors.

Online Courses: It was my first time taking an online class so I don't have to much feedback on it, but overall it was alright. I wasn't use to the way things were done and how we had discussions and assignments due strictly online but it wasn't that bad after a while on getting used to it. The registration was like any other class, the professor was basically there anytime we'd need her assistance and the peer to peer interaction was through the discussions which was new to me as well.

Career Services: Once again, like previously said, they do have people there to help you when it comes to career services for your particular degree, but being such a small and specialized department, we lack some of those resources. Now not to say that they don't help, but it is just more difficult.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: Overall it is definitely a really grounded experience. There is a really large variety of classes to choose from whether you're trying to figure out what you want to do career wise, interests and hobbies that people have, clubs and or events to meet new people and friends, or even if they feel like they don't belong in college since a lot of people don't feel it's for them. The classes are solid sized, 20-30 people per regular academic courses, for more specialized major classes they work with numbers more between 8-16 people. The professors are great in my opinion. Of course every schools got their good and their bad, majority of mine have all benefited me one way or another.

Overall Experience: Well when it comes to this aspect of things, the school isn't to bad, well it's not by any means. The school does offer a lot of networking, internship opportunities, job fairs/hiring events and other related services. It's just that in my field things are a tad more limited for us at the school. Since the digital art department is fairly small compared to some of the others, like the business, law, science, etc departments our opportunities for internships and job fairs aren't really as readily available so that makes things a little bit more difficult. But overall I do think they do a solid job with those events to help promote and encourage students to help them get a better foot in the door for their careers.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: People often say community colleges aren't really up to par since the community colleges and that they're easier and such, but honestly I feel like it's all about what you take, how interested YOU actually are, what you decide to do with what you learned, and so forth. I feel as though my academic experience so far has definitely been challenging on many bases, but also very rewarding because I learned a lot more than just the generic "educational" aspect of things. You learn a lot about yourself, your ambitions, certain strengths and weaknesses, time management which is huge, and networking which is most definitely important for friendships, opportunities, and careers.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: Overall, I genuinely enjoy going to school and learning all around. It's a great enviornment cause it helps you find other people with similar interests as you in a more educational and work(since the goal is to have a career in the field) type of atmosphere but with a heavy communication and teamwork perspective.
