Academic Flexibility: I'm able to balance my schedule with my job and family. I'm able to work full time while still taking my classes and attending college. Transferring credits also has not been a problem because many of the courses are transferable.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: The Center for Job placement and college opportunities offers: job search, career planning, Employer connections, internships and resume writing and interview skill.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The teachers are very friendly and understanding, the courses offered aren't as good with variety, the class styles are normal with small class sizes of about 26-30 people.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: There is a job placement center inside the school, the workers are helpful with assisting you with whatever questions you might have.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: There's not many opportunities in Naugatuck, simply because it is a community college and It isn't categorized strongly in my field of computer science. Workload is regular, curriculum doesn't offer much. The college itself is big and the staff is nice and friendly.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Attending Naugatuck has been a regular experience, I'd get much more excitement joining a University and my dream is to go to Quinnipiac University. If I could do it all over again, I would have tried to go directly to a university instead of a community college. There's more you experience and learn.

Academic Flexibility: Unfortunately, with my major there is usually only one class offered for those major specific courses. Yet, after I choose those courses I am easily able to work my general studies classes around them, since there are usually more than 5 offered. I do not have any problems with scheduling and I have had a teacher helping me with choosing my courses for transferring to another school.

4 College Senior

Online Courses: I only took one online course. It's not my favorite thing to do, but there wasn't anything I truly hate about it. Just personally, I enjoy being with people and on campus. Yet, the online course was very easy to use and the teachers contact you weekly to remind you of your studies and even post how to do something if someone is struggling. We are all able to comment on these posts which makes it very helpful if we want to ask the teacher another question or thank him for reaching out.

Career Services: I have met many people in my field from field trips, internships and so on. I know many of them are willing to take students in, and if they don't our school has a career center that always puts out jobs, and even have people standing in the hallway who are literally looking to hire students on the spot.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: Classes are always a reasonable size, meaning every student has the opportunity to meet with the teacher individually to receive the help they need. The professors are always willing to help, even during their office hours or through email. We have almost everything to study at NVCC and almost all of our courses are transferable. I have never met a teacher who wasn't there to assist me. Even teachers I don't know smile at me in the hallway. Everyone at NVCC are there for the students.

Overall Experience: I easily got an internship while attending this school. Mostly because people know we are dedicated students and we have an interest in furthering our education in the field. I know without a doubt I am going to transfer after I receive my associates degree so I can further my education. Although, many students can get a job with an associates degree from NVCC. This school is fantastic in giving people the opportunity to further their education, or get a degree in something to help them get a job fast.

5 College Senior

Academic Experience: At NVCC, my studies include a lot of hands on work as well as book work. This is fantastic for someone like me because I learn by doing. Having book work is never a problem either because the professors we have are well educated and know that they are there to help us, not just to make money. After a year, I got an internship working at a facility that does landscaping for properties near a lake. During this internship, I was able to earn college credit. I learned so much there and now I can use that knowledge in my future classes at this school and other schools as well. I am very happy in this major and I'm grateful that a community college offers it.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: When I applied to NVCC I had no plans of attending school at all. I had no outlook on what I was planning to do with my life. When I chose Horticulture as my major, I honestly knew very little about it. Yet, after my first year, I have met the most amazing people, helpful teachers, and am learning something that I find no stress in at all. As a result, I am excited to transfer colleges because this school gave me such a better outlook on education.

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: It is difficult to rate this, as I have yet to transfer out. I will be going through the process of graduating and transferring credits within the next few months so if possible I will update this review then.

Online Courses: I have not had the chance to take an online course myself, but many of my close friends in the department have. Based on their experiences, it is a bit more difficult online because of the lack of guidance you get sometimes. The distance makes it tough for some people, while others enjoy the freedom and leisure you get. I think it all depends on your learning preferences, but for the most part I have heard good things.

4 College Senior

Career Services: I cannot say much about the post-grad services at the school just yet as I haven't yet used many of them. However, I can say that we do have a vast variety of resources at the school to help with exactly that.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: The professors here are great! First off, the dance program here is amazing. The head of the department is an incredible teacher as well as academic advisor who cares for each one of her students individually. She is fantastic at helping you plan ahead and I have received amazing training in classical techniques from her. Outside of the dance department there are people just as great that I have been lucky enough to meet. Many of the professors teach at other schools like Yale or UCONN and give us the same syllabus they use at those schools for our classes. The classes can be challenging, in a good way. Teachers here treat you like an individual, you aren't just a number and that is one of the best parts.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: The application process is simple and easy. If for any reason you don't understand something along the way there are tons of people around to help you with anything you might need.
