5 College Freshman

Academic Flexibility: The classes have a lot of different times, and a lot of them also do online courses, which is very convenient.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: If I could do this all over again, I would still choose my college because my dad graduated from there. They are so involved with their students and faculty. They have tons of programs, and isn't super expensive.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love the class sizes. Instead of have 50-100 students to a class, the classes have 20-30 students, so it is a lot easier to pay attention and get involved.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The college has a great work-study program I have heard. I do most of my work online, so I don't visit the school so often.

5 College Freshman

Online Courses: I am online with 75% of my classes, I have two young children, ages 2 and 1, and the online classes are perfect for me. I do my school work when the kids are in bed or napping, or if they are at their grandparents. The registration is very simple, but if you're not used to it, the counseling center is the place to go. The discussion boards help out a lot too. It saves me on gas, and it is a no rush process, you can work on it any time of the day.

Student Body: With a lot of students, everyone get's along pretty well. Mostly because we are all there for some of the same reasons, either to get a job or just learn more, or excelling in a career. They have bullying committees, and they also have security for that purpose. It makes the campus seem very safe.

4 College Freshman

Tuition & Financial Aid: I don't pay for tuition, my financial aid pays for my books and classes. I think the grants are good. But file online and bug them about it if you don't get your letter.

4 College Freshman

Career Services: This is one thing I do not know about yet, because I have quite awhile before I am able to graduate.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: The teacher I have right now is very social and funny. He is an amazing teacher, and he has to be because I spend 3 1/2 hours with him every Tuesday. He gives us breaks so we have time to stand up and stretch or use the bathroom. We also have a program for mental health. I am bipolar, so the school has a place to inform my teachers if I am unable to show up due to a mental breakdown or what not.

4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: My classes give me just enough work to not lose my mind, and the studies are interesting,

Campus Resources: My school is huge on athletics, has an amazing student center, and major campus activities, and there is someone ALWAYS available to help.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Our library is very easy to navigate and understand how to use the book locators. This college only has one gym, yet it very welcoming and has several different visiting hours. There is constantly campus activities occurring on campus and off that help the community or with college experience. If I had to complain about something it would be the speed of technology on campus.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Beware of bookstore! They sell damaged books and refuse to take them back. It's happened to me and other people I've spoken with. The c computers usually take 30 minutes just to be ready to use the internet. Wifi is bad and gets lost all the time. Can't really find any quiet places to study.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: I do like the resources that the school has to offer. I can go to the gym when my schedule allows it, I also like the computers that are available. It helps me a lot that I could download microsoft office too. Without the microsoft office software I would not be able to do a lot of my school work.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: It is very flexible. Though sometimes when trying to sign up for other classes it is hard to get the classes to line up correctly. That was why I wanted to go to a counselor, but they did not help me at all. I have to figure it all out myself.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Like I said before, it is a great school. The counselors do not know much and are not very helpful. Though I do like the teachers, teachers, and overall classes.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: I am very neutral to it all. It has been very cheap, though still costly (but what college isnt?) I am a little frustrated with the counselors, one told me a college would not take my credits while another said they should take it just fine. I liked the small classes and the overall classes I am taking. I have learned a lot. Though I am confused on what to do next, I do not regret coming to Muskegon Community College and I would recommend it to others.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: I have taken some classes for my degree though I have stopped, thinking that other colleges are not going to transfer my credits. I am trying to work it out right now though I am at a point where I have no plan. I did have a plan, now I don't know what to do. I am looking into many different colleges though it all seems very confusing.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: I have not used the online courses yet, so I do not know how to respond to any questions you have asked me. Sorry that I couldn't be much help in this area.

4 College Junior

Student Body: The student body is fine. It is very diverse and the people are all very kind. I have no complaints with it.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I did get some financial aid from the school though it did not pay for everything (but of course it wouldn't) and I did have to pay for some of it myself, out of pocket. I was lucky to come across a scholarship that had nothing to do with the school I am attending and I am not looking like crazy for other scholarships for the scholarship I got last year will be decreasing this year. So please help me.

3 College Junior

Career Services: The counselors are not really a big help. We have some events where some representatives will come and give some info about their school, but it does not really help me prepare for financial plans or what school or plan is best for me.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: Transferring credits is very flexible. I have transferred to GVSU and back to MCC due to tuition, and transferring to and from each was easy.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Attending muskegon community college is very convenient, it is close to my home, they allow me to work and allow me to do so around my school schedule.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The quality of courses is great, there is a wide variety of courses offered for all different fields of education, class sizes are perfect for student interaction and success.
