Campus Housing: At Mount Mercy University, living on campus is a mediocre experience. I believe that the dorms are spacious and cozy yet the social atmosphere could definitely be better. The living is quite pricey but things are convenient at Mount Mercy University.

Off-Campus Housing: I live on campus, but have been looking for a place to live off-campus, and it is hard to find a nice place that is reasonably priced.

Off-Campus Dining: There is a wide variety of off-campus dining options. At the beginning of the year the students receive a card that includes discounts for students. Cedar Rapids is very college friendly food price wise.

2 College Sophomore

Administration: The administration is not focusing on the right rules. There are people who are doing drugs, but nobody cares, but if a person parks on a line, they will receive a ticket.

Scholarships: The scholarship process is alright, the student goes in for an interview and will automatically get a $2000 scholarship. The students who dance are going to start receiving scholarships but the students who already dance will not.

Campus Food: Last year the food was good, they had a lot of options, and a variety of food served. This year they are lacking in that way. They have a lot of weird waffles and stir fry. The cafeteria does have a salad and sandwich bar, and also cereal at each meal. They also have an area for gluten free meals.

Mount Mercy has a grill which is where nursing students usually end up eating meals due to clinicals. Their food is made when a person orders, and is pretty good. They have pizza, calzones, wraps, burgers, chicken, and also pre made sandwiches and salads. They also have Starbucks coffee and pop available, as well as snack food.

Java is the coffee shop on campus. It is excellent, the staff are very friendly and know how to make good coffee treats. Java also has cookies, pre made sandwiches, fruit, and yogurt parfaits to order.

Campus Housing: As a incoming freshman, the school picks the dorm room the student is in, and if the student does not pick a roommate they already know, the schools rooms the students based on a survey. The survey is not necessarily accurate, a lot of students get paired with a person who is opposite of them. The freshman dorms are outdated, but they are alright, they are bigger than most dorm rooms. The heaters are on full blast during the winter and the building does not have air conditioning, so the rooms are hot all year around. The sophomore dorms are tiny, but they are updating the sophomore dorms after the year. Cedar Rapids has a lot to do, but is too big for a small town girl. There is a Walgreens a half a mile away from the college, and Walmart, Target, and a mall not too far from campus. There is a city bus stop across from the campus if a student does not a have a car, and many friendly people to ask for a ride. The school also has a shuttle every Thursday night to Walmart and Target. The social atmosphere is that of a small college, many students like to party, unless they are a good nursing student.

Off-Campus Dining: I have not eaten off campus that often, but there are a lot of restaurants with some variety.

4 College Freshman

Administration: I think that the rules are appropriately enforced, but I know some people that fly by unseen.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: I got a decent amount of money of scholarships through the school with no problem. It was a very simple and easy process.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: Since I commute I like going to the Hilltop because it is cheaper. When I do go to the cafeteria I like the variety, but now it seems like they always have the same foods.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Most people live on campus, but the few people who don't find off-campus enjoyable.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Honestly, I don't eat off-campus. Everything you need is convenient.

3 College Freshman

Administration: It's pretty average. The campus is strict, but can not be.

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: The financial aid people were very nice and easy to talk to. They didn't try to cheat you.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food is pretty average. It's good food and it has variety, but they use a lot of grease. They are very considerate to allergies and styles of life.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: It is very convenient to live on campus. The dorms are your average dorms, but the people are helpful and nice. The housing process is very easy to go through, and the cost is reasonable. I love living in my dorm room.

3 College Senior

Diversity: It is a private Catholic university, so in general most students have similar economic status. They do have quite a few international students.

3 College Senior

Administration: The parking policy is very strictly enforced. The handbook policy on drug and alcohol is strict on drugs and underage drinking and tolerant to moderate drinking after 21.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: There is a great selection of apartments. Most are close by. Depending on your budget and quality desires it can be a little hard to find nice quality and low price.

4 College Senior

Local Area: Cedar Rapids is the second biggest city in Iowa. The city is very friendly and the shopping is very good. The city's museums are of excellent quality, and there is lots to do around town.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: Campus police are strict with parking but not strict with dorm policies and partying.
