Overall Experience: I absolutely love my school. I am going to Moody Bible Institute to prepare me for overseas mission work. I have only taken one year of college, but I can say they are not only preparing me for mission work, but they are teaching me important, life skills and values. My teachers genuinely care for each student and are not only well learned in what they teach, but very experienced in their fields. I connected really well with my roommate and everyone else on my dorm floor even though I knew absolutely no one when I first stepped onto campus. Moody is also in the ideal area-downtown Chicago. Not only do I have wonderful teachers and classmates, but we are in the middle of a fun city! Because of this, not only is there a lot to do, but there are a lot of people we can go out and help. Once a week, I have gone out to feed homeless people at a soup kitchen with my friends. Being in the city not only gives you fun things to do when you have free time, but it also gives you an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. I honestly could not have picked a better school for me.

Overall Experience: I love Moody because it is a place that I can build relationships that are firm and solid. Each friend in the dorms that i make are striving to walk the path that God has set out for us and we are all taking the trek together.

Overall Experience: Moody Bible Institute is an excellent school to challenge your faith and understanding and to prepare you for ministry and Christian living. Tuition is paid by very generous donors, which is something for which I'm very appreciative, but there are several other fees that students must pay, including room and board (unmarried students are required to live on campus and pay for a meal plan. MBI is academically based and ministry-focused. The work load is heavy, but if you're serious about your relationship with God and serving Him, it is an excellent place to grow.

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing is sometimes tough to find and hard to pay in Chicago. But I do know several students who have been able to thrive off campus.

Off-Campus Dining: Chicago offers a wide variety of great options for a meal anytime of day. All it takes is a GPS and you can find pretty much anything you want.

Administration: Although some people may not like the strictness of the enforcement of rules, I appreciate it in light of our Christian environment and safety in downtown Chicago.

Party Scene: There are no alcohol parties here at Moody. But there are great opportunities to hang with friends and experience Chicago on the weekends!

5 College Student

Scholarships: Moody offers a tuition paid scholarship to all undergraduate on campus students. The donors to Moody are truly a blessing from God. You cannot beat tuition paid that's forsure.

Campus Food: The student dining room is average at best. The food options are minimal and not that good of quality. But it is edible. The commons is the best place to eat on campus, with fresh food off the grill every day.

Campus Housing: Moody provides you with a quality dorm where you will have a complementary dresser, desk, and drawers. Furthermore Moody offers an on campus dining area called the commons in addition to your average cafeteria. There is also an activities room filled with pool and ping pong tables. Overall, Moody offers a wide variety of ways to live out your days here on campus. I would recommend it to anyone.

Off-Campus Housing: It's diverse. and depends on location

Off-Campus Dining: Chicago is loaded with places to eat.

Scholarships: Tuition paid is the way to go.

Party Scene: There really isn't a "traditional" party scene.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Joe's rocks, but a block in any direction has 15 places to eat at anyway.

Campus Housing: Living in Dryer is cold in the winter

Off-Campus Housing: I haven't personally experienced the process for off-campus housing, but I have friends who have. It sounds like it's hard to get on the waiting list for off-campus housing, but once it's done, there are plenty of places to live in the city that can be more affordable than living on-campus. Advertisements from students looking to move off-campus are posted in the elevators seeking roommates to keep costs low. There is even a Facebook page to help find people to live with too.

Off-Campus Dining: Chick-fil-a has been one of the biggest draws to the students here since they discount and give away free food sometimes. Many affordable and delicious options are within walking distance and are available late at night when the college dining is unavailable.

Administration: This campus is very safe because of strict policies against drinking and violence. We have many security officers, students and professionals, who work to make this campus safe and secure in the middle of a dangerous city. The policies that are enforced here are for the good of the students and, while some may complain they may be too strict, really aren't as legalistic as they seem initially.

Scholarships: The people in financial aid here are very understanding if one cannot always pay their bill on time. They urge students to do all within their power to work and earn the money to put themselves through school and apply for scholarships. However, when all other resources have been used, they will work with students to manage payments until they can get back on their feet. I would recommend asking if there is any money that was set aside for students who couldn't make it that might be available to help with school costs.

Party Scene: Every college has a different definition of partying. At MBI, we have a lot of fun together and really know how to include everyone. We go to sports events together and have movie nights or cooking nights. We watch the Superbowl together and eat lots of great food. There is never any alcohol or drug use involved because we choose to honor God by taking care of the bodies He's given us. We don't need those things to have a good time. There are plenty of events and locations in the city to go to and enjoy together. We also have an improv comedy group that performs on weekends and they draw huge crowds with their amazing talent. The students here put together dramas and plays that catch the school's spirit.

Campus Food: Since coming here, I've always enjoyed eating in the Student Dining Room. It offers a wide range of options, including a Gluten Free corner and Vegetarian section. I especially love the opportunity to hang out with everyone or even hop tables and meet new people.

No college is perfect, and we do get served chicken a lot, but if that's the only complaint people have, there's really nothing to fuss about. The food is always fresh and delicious and prepared and served with love by a wonderful kitchen staff.

Campus Housing: To live on the Moody Bible Institute campus is to live with family. Everyday I see my Sisters in Christ around me doing life in the dorms, rushing to classes, encouraging each other when things get tough, and rejoicing with one another when something amazing happens.

I'm very blessed to have access to a central lounge where I can comfortably do homework and socialize with my dormmates, as well as be able to cook in the kitchen we have.

The teachers are amazing and really care about the students. The classrooms we learn in are well-equipped with technology that helps get the lessons across effectively.

The location of Moody is right in the heart of the business district of Chicago. There's a Walmart, Walgreens, Trader Joe's and an Immediate Care facility all within walking distance, making it easier to live here, especially if one comes from far away and can't go home on breaks.

I've appreciated the cost of living here the most. Donors pay tuition for the students so the only responsibilities are room and board. It is much cheaper than many other Christian colleges, but not at the sacrifice of a solid Biblical education.

Greek Life: There is not Greek society at Moody to my knowledge, but there are other cultural groups.
