Campus Resources: MPC has many resources available on campus to support each student's academic need. The English Study Center is a great place to get help with your essays, proposals, and any other homework. The Math center has great people to help you with math both centers are open on Sundays which is a plus.

Academic Flexibility: Online classes have expanded my schedule flexibility, but even without the online classes, their were ample amounts of class times to choose from to fit my schedule.

Overall Experience: Overall, MPC has been a fantastic portion of my educational career, especially within my field of study. The campus is beautiful and green, the class size is small, and the teachers genuinely care about their student's education. One thing that makes MPC unique are the many Canadian geese that reside on campus. You can be so tired and even sad, and their stupid honking will make you bust up laughing. However, watch out when you're driving on campus, they sometimes fly low and have almost taken out my windshield a couple of times.

Overall Experience: The small class size is really helpful for enabling more specific instructor time per student. The science divisions are fantastic, as well as English.

Overall Experience: I'm not looking to gain a career from my Biological Sciences degree from MPC, but rather am using it as a stepping stone toward my Bachelor's In molecular biology.

Online Courses: The key to a good online class really hinges on the organization of the instructor. I've had a great experience with two of my classes, and a terrible time with the third simply because the instructor wasn't clear and concise in their wording of information or instruction. All the information was spread wide throughout the class site and the instructor would often ramble on in their instructions for so long that by the time they got to the point, you had no idea what they were saying.

Student Body: There is a wide variety of students, both ethnically as well as generationally. However, many keep to themselves unless in classes with you and even then contact seems to stay within the classroom.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Although I can't speak for out of state students, the tuition is completely manageable at somewhere around $40 per unit. I haven't had to get financial aid of any sort so far, but I've been looking for exit scholarships since I'll be attending CSUMB this coming semester.

Academic Experience: My core focus and major is in biological sciences, and of course general education requirements. I have had a fantastic experience in both general chemistry courses and the first semester of organic chemistry. Todd Ritsema made a scary course such as ochem very approachable and fun. Dr. D for biology may seem scary to many, but he is a fantastic teacher and really only asks that you have a firm grasp of the general concepts taught. The facilities have been well equipped to my knowledge, but I've never attended any other college.

Academic Experience: There is a pretty large variety of classes offered, and other than a couple of classes, the workload is completely manageable if you don't procrastinate. For math classes, the math learning center is a great tool, and for biology, "sunday school" with Dr. d is helpful if you're having a hard time grasping the concepts.

Campus Resources: The general academic counselors are lack luster and often have no idea what they're talking about. Do your research before going in to "find out" what you need to do to graduate or transfer. Most of the admissions staff are quite friendly and helpful. The student center is well equipped after the remodel, and the gym and track are pretty well maintained. The library meets all of my needs with study rooms and computers, however it would be nice to be able to reserve study rooms online rather than only being able to do so in person. I haven't really had time to get involved with any "extras" around campus, but almost all of the teachers that I have had have been excellent and truly interested in their student's success. This has been especially true with the science divisions.

Overall Experience: Professors are very helpful and are very interested in the subject they're teaching. Class sizes aren't too big the minimum amount of students in a class i would say would be 15 and largest about 30.

Overall Experience: The school is pretty good. There is a career center that is there to help if you go to it. Also has it on the school website about jobs in the area that would work around a student's schedule.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: This is a great intermediate between high school and university.

Campus Resources: I spend a lot of time in the library and I work there, so I'm partial to it among other campus centers. It's a great library for such a small school. The librarians are all helpful and there is a lot of information in book and online forms.

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: The website used for online classes is excellent and easy to use. My only issue is that I can't change my display name without some possibility of an issue with my academic record. As a trans student, this is a huge issue for me.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Once I figured out how to navigate everything, the financial aid process went smoothly. Even when I did have problems, the offices were quite helpful and all problems were dealt with quickly.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The academics and assistance programs at MPC are fantastic.

4 College Sophomore

Student Body: The student body is relatively diverse and people accept that diversity.

5 College Sophomore

Career Services: This school prepares students well to transfer to 4-year universities.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The professors are very dedicated and as such the courses are high quality.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: The library is new and very nice. Since the student population is small there are not a lot of campus activities.

5 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: I am receiving a high level education for a community college. The classes are preparing me to transfer to a 4-year university. As such, since the tuition is the same at all community colleges in California, the value of my education is worth the tuition I paid.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: MPC is a small school full of helpful administrators and teachers. It is easy to find someone to help you if you look around.

5 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: The classes are taught at a high level with demanding professors. MPC professors try to prepare students to transfer to 4-year universities. The workload is higher than similar classes at different community colleges, but students are more prepared to transfer to competitive universities. Some of the professors at MPC are extremely dedicated to their students.
