Facts & Statistics

Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • Academics at MSU are centered around the sciences and engineering, so there are more opportunities for people in these majors. If you are in the humanities, though, the professors are still excellent, and you will get your money's worth.
  • Buy a five-day meal plan, unless you really like greasy food.
  • It's not always necessary to attend every single one of your classes all the time, especially when they are 100 levels.
  • People aren't lying when they say it gets cold here.
  • Try to talk your parents into putting more than the standard $100 on your One Card.
Interviews & Information Sessions
An informational video is shown 15 minutes prior to the campus tour. Feel free to just show up to these tours. For interviews, contact the admissions office by calling (888) MSU-CATS or by emailing admissions@montana.edu.
Campus Tours
Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), group campus tours are given at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and depart from Strand Union (SUB) room 201. The tours typically last between 45 and 60 minutes and are led by current students.
