The weather can be a dreadful part of going to Missouri Western. We are in Missouri, so we can get all types of weather all year round. The Missouri Western campus isn't too spread out, but there is enough open areas to make walking across campus a pain when it is rainy, windy, or snowing. Definitely make sure to bring some snow boots and an umbrella if you want to survive! There are a lot of technicalities when it comes to Missouri Western closing for snow, so several days in the winter it becomes difficult to get to classes if you live off-campus. Some professors are understanding about missing class for terrible snow days, but others are sticklers about it. Fortunately, the campus is gorgeous in the Spring and Fall, with lots of open grassy areas and several trees around campus, which makes up for the ugly snow piles and puddles of water when the weather is bad.

We don't exactly advertise what we're known for; The Pony Express. Are oldest and neatest buildings are left to fall apart rather than being renovated like they should, and you find them in crappy parts of town. More bushes and attractive flower beds could be set up around town, and unclean buildings fixed up. I'm not a night person but even I know there isn't hardly any sort of night life unless you want to create your own party. Saint Joe also welcomes students; it means more money!

Missouri Western has one of the finest and fastest-growing theater programs available. Just this summer, we formed our first professional theater group, Western Playhouse. The theater program expands every year, with opportunities for actors, directors, editors, screenwriters, animators, makeup artists, and more! The workload can be heavy at times, but the faculty is very caring and will help you through the hard times. Besides, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!
