Academic Flexibility: The only hassle I've had is getting this school to take my LPN credits from a proprietary school that is accredited under the same body they are accredited under. I am gaining outside help such as SACS and the Junior College board to help me through this process.

Online Courses: My professors make sure that I have plenty of study material to help me to do well on my test. There are also games that will make it fun for me to get the material. It is very in depth. They are not skimming the surface, for that I fell that I am getting my money's worth.

Overall Experience: There are majors and courses for everyone. The courses are great and everything is outlined for you. I stay 3 hours away from my campus, but thing I love the most is that I am able to take my proctored exams here in my hometown at one of the local colleges. The only time I travel is when I have to pickup my books, take them back, and do clinical.

Overall Experience: I am a non traditional student and am already nursing. I am just here to upgrade my license. I already have many connections in my line of work.

Academic Experience: I am in an online LPN to RN class. I love it works for me and it's cheaper on my pockets than a proprietary school.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I am an online student and most of what my experience is that I have to learn this stuff on my own. I am totally cool with that. Your professors are there to help you, but you have to be able to learn this stuff on your own and your way. They do put out a lot of material to help you to learn the class. If you are good at being a self starter and being disciplined then online is definitely the way to go.

Overall Experience: My college is the best, because they offer the ability to take online classes. I am able to work full-time and go to school full-time and still get my education. I would choose to go to this school again, the teachers at this school are down to earth are always egear to help.

Online Courses: The registration process for online classes was the same as ordinary in-person classes: look up the class code, speak to your adviser, and enter it into your account/database. The difference is that there is very little peer to peer or teacher/student interaction, aside from the weekly discussions (you only had to reply to one-two people though) or if you needed to email the professor any questions/concerns about the class. The workload was moderate, with a smaller amount of tests/quizzes--close deadlines and quite frequent, but all the note taking/projects and studying was self-paced. If you have more than 15 hours, then having 1 or two online classes can get a little overwhelming, especially if you have a job or extracurricular activities outside of class hours.

Career Services: Since I have recently graduated, I have yet to look at the alumni network; they have a page on Facebook, and I should ask one of my peers if they have joined. The career center is mainly used for those with trade jobs, or those who already have a job and want to further their degree; I am transferring to a 4-year, so I never truly went over to see. However, I have seen it in the works, such as the coach of the football team working with the career center to help get some of the athletes drafted, and the nursing program guiding the students in the right direction towards various hospitals to work/intern at. Most of the staff, from the tutors to the adviser, are more than willing to give great resources on what the students plans might be after graduation.

Overall Experience: The teachers at MGCCC were very energetic about their subject, and were always willing to help out their students with anything they didn't understand. The office hours were reasonable, and they were responsive to emails (except on weekends). The course quality was thorough and not too crammed, although we had to skip some topics in certain classes because of time crunches. The class sizes were not very big, the largest had around 20-30 students, which left room for people to ask questions and have discussions in class, if the lecture/lab/notes weren't too lengthy. Class style involved mainly lecture and notes for most classes, with a lab for the science-aimed classes such as Biology and Chemistry; teachers never rushed through notes, and were willing to go back to a missed section during or after class. the only issue was if you were to register for a class with a different lecturer and lab teacher for a science class, you would end up very confused, because some teachers have different teaching styles, and may not cover the same material timeline as another.

Overall Experience: I am mainly rating this section as an "okay" because of my status as an out-of-state student; my degree/transfer ability would help me more if I were in-state, or transferring to an in-state (Mississippi) university. However, the classes they provided me with did transfer after graduation. Since I just recently graduated (May 12th, 2016), I don't know much about the alumni network, minus the fact that they do have a page on Facebook--but I don't know if any of my peers have joined. As for the career services, I believe they have an excellent facility for recent graduates, and even invite universities to visit so that prospective students can get a head start in their applications. MGCCC always use the top professors in each department to help advise students on what their next strep should be, concerning their major--including what they should expect from other university programs as well. I used those resources mainly to see which classes I need to take, and if they would transfer, but if I were to stop at an Associates degree, then the adviser'(s) would be more than enough help.

Academic Experience: Since MGCCC was a 2-year college, I was a part of the Science Preparatory program, which contained all of the classes that I needed to transfer to a 4-year, such as Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, etc. However, there were several elective classes that I needed to take, such as Public Speaking and Art Appreciation. Because band took up most of my time as well, I was unable to take two of my required classes. Although I enjoyed some of the pre-requisite classes, I feel that I would have much more accomplished if I didn't need to take them. The workload was consistent, even though some teachers forgot to input grades or assignments onto the online database, which delayed some of out assignments, and hang everyone cram. The LRC was a great place to study; it had tutors for almost every subject, plenty of computers to work from, and stocked library upstairs; my favorite was at the Jefferson Davis Campus. There was work-study available, but it was more geared towards students who had a car, or carpooled with another student of the same/nearby job. Those jobs, were either the fast-food chains, or the Wal-Marts nearby.
