Facts & Statistics

Tips for Getting In
  • Be an individual; Misericordia looks for students who show they are unique.
  • Being well rounded is key to getting in.
  • Get good grades; SAT scores aren't everything.
  • Participate in as many clubs and organizations as possible in high school.
  • Try to get involved in community service because Misericordia prides itself in being involved in the community.
Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • Dorm rules are too strict. If you live close to campus, it's better to just live at home because dorm life at Misericorida is like living with your parents, anyway.
  • Getting an apartment close to campus is cheaper than living in the dorms.
  • Having a printer is a necessity. It's hard to rely on the lab printers to work.
  • Having a social life is close to impossible.
  • The city surrounding Misericordia is not a college town.
  • The desk duty policy makes it hard to have guests over past a certain time.
  • The parking situation
Interviews & Information Sessions
The Admissions staff conducts interviews Monday through Friday during the week. Interviews are informal and easy to prep for. Once a prospective student sends in an application, an interview is then scheduled. Information sessions are usually held during Open Houses. Information sessions can be scheduled by calling (866) 262-6363.
Campus Tours
Campus tours are given every day during the week (Monday through Friday), but in order to take a campus tour, prospective students have to first fill out a form online at There are also several planned Open Houses each semester. To sign up for an Open House, call (866) 262-6363.
Overnight Visits
Overnight visits are very popular, especially for prospective students who want to experience a day in the life of a student who balances playing a sport and going to class. Although most student athletes take advantage of the overnight visit program, all prospective students can stay overnight. Visits are held from Monday to Thursday and basically consist of students going to classes, eating in the dining hall, and meeting with an adviser of their chosen major. Overnight visits can be set up by contacting Glenn Bozinski, Director of Admissions, at (570) 674-6434 or e-mail
Did You Know?
The Admissions staff plans specific days for prospective students who want to declare certain majors. During the year, Misericordia offers Health Sciences Day, Sport Management Roundtable, and Communications Forum. These days give students the opportunity to see what an academic field is truly like, and they also give prospective students the chance to meet students and professors from their chosen majors.
