Academic Flexibility at Mildred Elley School - New York: The schedule and speed of the program is what really attracted me to it. I work the day shift so the ability to go to school in the evening was perfect. Initially I was in school 4 evenings a week, each class only lasting about 3 hours. Once I crossed into the LPN program I was only on campus 1-2 evenings a week. The only inconvenience I see for an evening student is that clinicals are in the day at a hospital nowhere near campus.

Online Courses at Mildred Elley School - New York: The online course is the worst! The professors offer no feedback only back to back assignments. We have to post to forums weekly and it feels as though we are teaching each other the material; which is scary when you see the blind leading the blind.

Overall Experience at Mildred Elley School - New York: I get along well with all of the professors because I'm there to learn and pretty much teach myself; so I make their job easier. I can count on one hand the TRUE professors in that school. One professor literally admitted he was only there for the paycheck.

Overall Experience at Mildred Elley School - New York: After I signed the dotted line to enroll in the school, my so called advisor was MIA. The simple fact that clinicals will be in one of the worst hospitals in the city does not instill a lot of confidence in future job prospects.

Academic Experience at Mildred Elley School - New York: There are literally 10 students in my class. The president told me himself that only 15% of TEAS takers passed it. The workload is what you'd expect but the teaching isn't as hands on as it should be for such a small class size.

Overall Experience at Mildred Elley School - New York: Mildred Elley is basically self-taught. They provide you with a classroom, a professor's presence, and textbooks, if you truly want to succeed it is up to you.

Academic Flexibility at Mildred Elley School - Albany: Night classes were the reason why I went to this school. Only toward the end was it a little frustrating because the wanted us to be there at 245pm and I just couldn't make it down there at that time. I finally got a hold of my teacher and we all worked it out as a class. There was a couple times in the beginning where class would start at 6pm and be done at 6:30pm. {when it was suppose to go to 8 or 9} There was an accident along the way there once and i showed up at 619pm..no one in sight. class dark and door locked. I was shocked, I live an hour away and you hold class for 10 minutes and be done? Not one of the "higher ups" cared.

Online Courses at Mildred Elley School - Albany: The workload was minimal because we had already completed a resume in our english class. all we had to do was get online and submit it. getting ahold of the professor was difficult. Tried to discuss attendance and grades being wrong and was shrugged off. They had just changed it our module that you didn't have to type in forums with your peers which was great. That module we were already loaded with classes and the class was boring so it did not interest me and I did not learn anything new.

Career Services at Mildred Elley School - Albany: the career center is the only thing that I have seen happen. tyler emails all the time and posts on Facebook about job openings. i haven't seen anything to do with alumni network.

Overall Experience at Mildred Elley School - Albany: class size was 20+ at first and then quickly dwindled down to 8ish for the nursing part of the semesters. Some of the professors were there for the right reasons and some you could tell they didn't want to be there. The quality of the courses is too much info crammed into short time making it impossible to have the teachers get all the information needed on the syllabus taught to us.

Overall Experience at Mildred Elley School - Albany: the career center is great. tyler emails me all the time about new job, job fairs, etc. Most of them are no where close to where I live but I appreciate him trying to help. there has been numerous job fairs at the school which were great.

Academic Experience at Mildred Elley School - Albany: The program and workload is alot of information crammed into a short time. I know personally that we "didn't get to" a lot of curriculum that was stated on our syllabus.

Overall Experience at Mildred Elley School - Albany: They offer night classes which was a plus. Sometimes they would tell us to show up at 2 in the afternoon for class (finals) and there would be no way to get there at that time. Ive emailed the Dean and teachers regarding attendance not being right and grades not being right and have always been shrugged off. Never fixed the problem that I had with the attendance or wrong grades. At that time we had a different department chair who was so unreliable. She came into the classroom on the very last week of class to hand out applications for the boards, she would tell you to meet her at a certain time and she would NEVER be there, you would try to contact her because she stated that her phone is always on and she has email and text on always and she would never respond. Teachers wouldn't show up and teachers walking out. Hopefully with the new department chair things get better...

Overall Experience at Mildred Elley School - New York: They got kicked out of hospital clinicals for insufficient education. Lie about opportunities to pick clinicals. Worst hospital Coney Island. No job fairs, many students graduate and cant find work.

Academic Experience at Mildred Elley School - New York: LPN teacher refers you to tutoring instead of teaching the class, no products to do practicals on, very lazy. Professor comes to school unprepared on days of tests, reschedules a lot. Rude, spiteful and pretends to care. Favoritism is done she let's students retest yet didn't allow me to because she is aware of me complaining about her teaching. The students are bribed with retesting to cover up her horrible teaching and to keep them from reporting her.

Overall Experience at Mildred Elley School - New York: I left the LPN program! $20,000 tuition but can only hire ONE nursing professor for the entire school for the entire 8 months. She is unorganized, prejudice, lazy to teach, shows favoritism. The Dean & President does nothing after stating they were aware of complaints. I had great grades until the professor gave a final which she did not include things she told us to study on the test. The Dean blamed me after I repeatedly reported this professor. The entire class is dissatisfied but they know how desperate NURSING students are so they ignore our concerns since they have the money. AVOID! I am reporting them to ACEN. Never enough supplies to practice with & clinicals in the worst hospital Coney Island. School was kicked out of other hospitals for insufficient education. The school lies to Medical Assisting students and promise a bridge program from MA to BSN very untruthful & misleading. They take advantage of immigrant students who does not understand American school culture. Gives you classes you don't need, make you buy books you never use. School is after your MONEY! Avoid coming here take it from a student who WITHDREW FROM THE LPN PROGRAM AFTER COMPLETING ONE MODULE. I was denied a retest because it's against school policy yet other students were allowed to take them. President Bernie Price walks around with a huge smile all day but truly ignores concerns of students and mumbles under that smile. A fake impersonation. Dean Chris Schnupp can care less and blames you for not doing well after ignoring many complaints about the professor. Horrible school!
