Health & Safety: I feel mostly safe, but it does get very dark outside. I am a girl and sometimes I make one of my friends come walk me back to my dorm. You just never know. If you go to a party, be smart and don't take any drink you shouldn't. Always go with other girls or guys you know you can trust. Preferably girls. The guys here are good for the most part, but they should still be watched. Greek life really likes to make a show of being anti-sexual assualt, and that is nice, but guys will still be really sick sometimes so still be careful. It isn't anymore dangerous than anywhere else in the world realistically.

Overall Experience: Most classes and professors are great! Honestly if you put yourself out there they will help you. I am very lazy :) but I know the professors are there if you need them. The classes are really good, and there are a lot of resources and ultimately that is what we are all here for.

Overall Experience: I think i'll be able to get a job, but it is important to get as much bang for your buck. Going here it will be smart to be a part of one of the bigger colleges (Mass Comm, Nursing, Aerospace). That way you can be more hire able.

Campus Housing: It is really gross. Everyone is disgusting. But it is a dorm, so what do you expect. I recommend getting a private room if at all possible because the rooms really are small and I couldn't imagine living with another person in here.

Greek Life: I love being in a sorority, but it could be better. I don't know if anyone else throws parties honestly, but to go to the frat parties it will pay off to be greek. Most people on campus really don't care or like greeks. I get why, but most people in the greek community don't fit the normal mold and are as diverse as anyone. There are "rankings" in a sense, but most people really don't care about that. In all honesty I've met all my friends through my sorority, so I would recommend joining.

Athletics: No one really cares. People don't go to a lot of the games. Literally no one goes to the football games.

Overall Experience: Love MTSU most days! People are for the most part so nice, and so are the professors. My biggest concern however is how the administration handles things. At times they can be very disorganized. Also there is little to no on campus life. Tailgating is kinda lame and no one every goes to the football games. So a lot of people don't find a connection with the school in that way. But for the most part, the students are great and well rounded people.

Health & Safety: I feel safe on campus.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I've had a wonderful experience with all of my professors at this school. They each show enthusiasm and concern towards their students.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: MTSU offers many job opportunities. Many times they will send out emails about potential job openings.

4 College Junior

Athletics: The athletic department does a great job trying to engage students in participating in events as well attending games.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: The college has created many opportunities for me to perform my best as well as provide me with essential knowledge and skills to be able to succeed in the future.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I am concerned about reports of crime on and around campus.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I've only had one professor so far whose class I have not enjoyed. He seems out of touch with the world outside academia.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I have been told by a professor at a Grad school that the Speech and Language Pathology undergraduate degree from MTSU is one of the best at preparing students for Graduate school.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I love my dorm. I love being in the honors community and have made some great friends there.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I went through rush to see if joining a sorority was something I wanted to do. Ultimately, I decided against it. The ladies I met were very nice, I just decided it wasn't for me.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: I enjoy the gatherings before football games.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I enjoy being part of the honors program and living in the honors community.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: I have never had an issue with the health and safety or know anyone that has here at MTSU

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I've had a mostly good experience with professors, most of them being very carrying and thoughtful of their students, but others that we're completely horrible and it was difficult to learn from them.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Id say it'd be average considering it isn't hard to get admitted into MTSU

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: A lot of the dorms except for the newest ones are cold, made out of brick and look/feel like jail cells.

1 College Junior

Greek Life: Probably the worst Greek life I've experienced, most frat and sorority girls and boys only associate with other greek life people and push out everybody else. Seems like most are still stuck in the high school mentality.

4 College Junior

Athletics: The rec center at MTSU is one of the best parts about living on campus, having access to everything thats in it for free is a major plus

Not everyone is keen on the town of Murfreesboro, but almost everyone loves MTSU—it's a safe and rewarding environment. One key to a stress-free experience here is to plan ahead so you're not running late for class all the time. Stress can be tough, and a few stitches in time can help you avoid a lot of headaches. Once students graduate, many seem to leave with a bigger impression of the people who helped them learn, rather than the actual material they studied. Lots of students also comment that they have made great friends at MTSU and are grateful for the experience and opportunities. There is something for everyone in Murfreesboro, and if you make an effort to look around the corner, you may find the solution to a problem you didn't even know you had. The outdoor environment around MTSU is personally rewarding. There are local parks everywhere and major state parks as close as a 30-minute drive in any direction. Anyone who chooses to become active in outdoor pursuits will not be let down. Between the inspiring Tennessee landscape and the technical and logistical assistance from MTSU, an outdoor enthusiast can enjoy wonderful experiences here.

Remember: If you ever need help while you're here, all you have to do is ask. The faculty and staff at MTSU want nothing more than to see you succeed. Your success reflects upon them and enforces their purpose in teaching. Your teachers can also be your best networking tool when it comes time to look for a job or internship, so when you find professors you like, take other classes with them, and really get to know them—you can go far.
