Overall Experience: MTSU started as a school of convenience. Like any school, general education classes are taught by bottom-of-the-barrel teachers and can leave a really bad first impression, but once you work through those and get to your major and higher level classes, you'll really start to appreciate the whole college experience. The MTSU campus has gotten a LOT better just over the 4 years I've been going to school here. (I'm a super-senior, so I've changed majors a *few* times.) Overall, I'm really happy with my experience. I've found a great program with teachers that are well respected and knowledgeable and I'm super happy that I stuck with it and didn't quit in the general education years of my experience. For that I can thank my parents and friends who told me to just keep going and never quit. It was good advice that I'm very thankful I was able to hear and receive.

Overall Experience: I love Middle Tennessee State University. They have a program for students like me, first generation students, and it teaches us how to prepare for college two weeks earlier before it starts. The students stay on campus two weeks before classes start. You learn great skills and independence. Also, they offer a lot for my major. Their business college is excellent. They gave me enough scholarship for tuition. Now I just need enough for my room and board. I feel comfortable at the campus. I live almost four hours away but Middle Tennessee State feels like my second home. My mom loves Middle Tennessee State as much as I do. My mom being a single parent is so proud that I am going to a four year college since I am the first in my family.

Overall Experience: The campus is big and beautiful. Campus life is fun and exciting. There are plenty of organizations and clubs to join. There are a lot of resources. There is an on-campus recreational center and plenty of good food places on campus and nearby the area. Tuition is very costly, but the overall experience is amazing and wouldn't trade it for the world.

Overall Experience: I love MTSU! Murfreesboro is a great place to live! There is always something to do for fun, and there are plenty of inexpensive places to eat around campus. I strongly suggest living on campus your first year. It is a great way to get involved. They show movies in the Student Union every weekend, and there are sooo many events to get involved in on campus and many opportunities to make friends. I've loved most of my classes at MTSU. Most of the professors are great and easy to work with.

Overall Experience: Overall, I love MTSU and my True Blue family. People always have something negative say about it, but if you meet people and participate in everything that goes on campus, this college experience would be the best. Yea it gets boring but being an upcoming sophomore, I've had the best times in my life. I've made life long friends that I know will one day be in my wedding and be the god parents to my children. On campus food is good, just stay away from MCallies dining hall, the JUB is way better especially on Fried Chicken Wednesday.

I would suggest any and everybody to join the TRUE BLUE family. You wouldn't regret it at all.

Off-Campus Housing: I do not live off campus, however, a lot of my classmates enjoy living on off-campus apartments that are steps away from campus.

Party Scene: I do not participate in parties, however, the holiday parties and fraternity/sorority parties are what most students participate in.

Off-Campus Dining: Middle Tennessee is in near proximity to the city of Nashville, so off-campus dining choices are basically unlimited.

4 College Junior

Administration: Our school is very strict when it comes to persons violating code rules concerning alcohol and behavior. However, our school is lenient when it comes to allowing freedom of speech and protests.

Campus Food: I enjoy each of the dining halls on campus, they are easy to find and offer healthy alternative meals for vegans. The prices are fairly reasonable and the food stations are sanitary.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: There are a number of scholarships offered, I recently received a transfer academic scholarship and I have found the financial aid process to be fairly easy to understand.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: On campus housing is clean, spacious, the cost is very reasonable and the atmosphere is fun and inviting for students.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: All very well known restaurants such as subway McDonalds, and even The Cookout

5 College Junior

Administration: I respect anyone with authority when they are challenged with rambunctious teenagers.

4 College Junior

Campus Food: The Student Union Building is more spacious/cleaner. The Panda Express is the best place to eat on campus, hands down.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: From my knowledge, the scholarship office is student-ran and it becomes difficult to speak with someone reliable. They take longer to process financial aid forms than the website says it will take them. Overall, it is a stressful process.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Cheaper than on campus living

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: There are a good variety of parties to choose from, most are held at frat houses or venues.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Very inexpensive places surround school that are open late

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Not enough options, it tiring eating the same thing all the time

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Not enough opportunity scholarships, most just academic

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Not enough choices for living without an roommate.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: They have updated the financial aid office to be a lot more convenient. Unless there are a lot of people, you can get help pretty quickly. I have had a few difficulties, but it was mainly because financial aid stuff isn't a breeze to begin with.

Not everyone is keen on the town of Murfreesboro, but almost everyone loves MTSU—it's a safe and rewarding environment. One key to a stress-free experience here is to plan ahead so you're not running late for class all the time. Stress can be tough, and a few stitches in time can help you avoid a lot of headaches. Once students graduate, many seem to leave with a bigger impression of the people who helped them learn, rather than the actual material they studied. Lots of students also comment that they have made great friends at MTSU and are grateful for the experience and opportunities. There is something for everyone in Murfreesboro, and if you make an effort to look around the corner, you may find the solution to a problem you didn't even know you had. The outdoor environment around MTSU is personally rewarding. There are local parks everywhere and major state parks as close as a 30-minute drive in any direction. Anyone who chooses to become active in outdoor pursuits will not be let down. Between the inspiring Tennessee landscape and the technical and logistical assistance from MTSU, an outdoor enthusiast can enjoy wonderful experiences here.

Remember: If you ever need help while you're here, all you have to do is ask. The faculty and staff at MTSU want nothing more than to see you succeed. Your success reflects upon them and enforces their purpose in teaching. Your teachers can also be your best networking tool when it comes time to look for a job or internship, so when you find professors you like, take other classes with them, and really get to know them—you can go far.
