Scholarships: They have updated the financial aid office to be a lot more convenient. Unless there are a lot of people, you can get help pretty quickly. I have had a few difficulties, but it was mainly because financial aid stuff isn't a breeze to begin with.

Campus Food: As far as the fast food places on campus, such as Chik-Fil-A and Subway, they have some pretty good choices. There is a decent span of options while still having alternatives to certain types of food, such as the fact that there is more than one Asian restaurant. The dining halls and POD can be convenient, but sometimes they can be annoying. The prices aren't really worth it if you don't have a meal plan. The food can be crappy sometimes and they sometimes don't refill the drinks after they have gone flat. Its pretty much all about going at the right time and day.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: I would say that the finacial aid process was good to me. I can not complain.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Off-campus housing is very expensive if you do not have at least a part time job or financial aid to support.

3 College Junior

Party Scene: I really do not party, so I couldn't answer this question.

3 College Junior

Administration: I really like the fact that the campus was very intuned with criminal actions on campus. They made sure that they informed and let everyone know whats going on.

3 College Junior

Campus Food: For the most part, the food is ok. I just did not like McCallies when i lived on campus because it was the most convient food place that was open literally everyday for students and the food was just about always the same.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: I mostly did not living on campus during the winter time and when it rained. When it rains at MTSU, it floods. Rainboots are a must when it rains and an excellent umbrella. I also did not like the fact that you had to walk to go get your food if you were hungry no matter what time of day it was. On the bright side, you really did not have to deal with finding a park.

Party Scene: The party scene at MTSU is wonderful! Most of the parties are very close in range so you do not have to worry about being too far away from campus.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Students are able to find off campus housing due to what they can afford to pay.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: The off campus dining experience is great! There are many options to choose from.

4 College Freshman

Administration: Our campus is pretty lenient.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The positive side for on campus dining is that it is very convenient but the food is sometimes not cooked all the way through. The people that work there should be more cautious to what food they put out for the students to eat.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living on campus is very convenient when it comes to getting back and forth to class. The dorm rooms are pretty spacious but the cleanliness is not okay. The bathrooms in the dorms can sometimes be the worst. They do not get thoroughly cleaned like they should be.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: I can't eat wheat, so there are not many options for someone, but other than that, it's great!

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: It's okay. I'm not living on campus, so I wouldn't know that much.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: It depends on where you stay. Some of the off campus apartments are shady and always have the cops called.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: If you don't mind spending money, like $15, on a meal then it's great. However, a lot of the off campus eateries are a bit on the expensive side if you have a tight budget, like $8 a meal is pushing it.

3 College Senior

Administration: Tution keeps going up to support all the new buildings. They could just renovate MTSU's older buildings, but that would require them to manage their money correctly.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: The wait can be a hassle sometimes, but if you go early in the morning usually there's no line. There is the exception of the week before classes start and the first two weeks of classes.

2 College Senior

Campus Food: The good food choices are limited. Also if you use the POD always check the expiration dates. They do not check their shelves for expired food that needs to be thrown away.

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: Commuter parking is atrocious to say the least. Education wise MTSU is solid. Our professors, for the most part, have real world experience and connections with former alumni. So a lot times you'll find job or internship opportunities through your professors. These same opportunities can turn into jobs so don't pass on the internships.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I really enjoy going to my school. It provides a great atmosohere for learning while simultaneously being convienent. MTSU provides a variety of places to take courses and has plenty of options for classes. The school is failry large and could expand on their parking lots and traffic flow. Most of the students that attend MTSU do not live on campus and it is difficult for all of us to find parking. Ther proffesors are extremely helpful and genuinely care about their students. All in all I love MTSU and believe it is a valuable investment.

Off-Campus Dining: Some restaurants in other areas are nice. There are a lot of options within 10 miles of the campus.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

Not everyone is keen on the town of Murfreesboro, but almost everyone loves MTSU—it's a safe and rewarding environment. One key to a stress-free experience here is to plan ahead so you're not running late for class all the time. Stress can be tough, and a few stitches in time can help you avoid a lot of headaches. Once students graduate, many seem to leave with a bigger impression of the people who helped them learn, rather than the actual material they studied. Lots of students also comment that they have made great friends at MTSU and are grateful for the experience and opportunities. There is something for everyone in Murfreesboro, and if you make an effort to look around the corner, you may find the solution to a problem you didn't even know you had. The outdoor environment around MTSU is personally rewarding. There are local parks everywhere and major state parks as close as a 30-minute drive in any direction. Anyone who chooses to become active in outdoor pursuits will not be let down. Between the inspiring Tennessee landscape and the technical and logistical assistance from MTSU, an outdoor enthusiast can enjoy wonderful experiences here.

Remember: If you ever need help while you're here, all you have to do is ask. The faculty and staff at MTSU want nothing more than to see you succeed. Your success reflects upon them and enforces their purpose in teaching. Your teachers can also be your best networking tool when it comes time to look for a job or internship, so when you find professors you like, take other classes with them, and really get to know them—you can go far.
