3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Got to find the best places early and be careful on the utilities.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are plenty of dining options.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: There is a lot of variety, but they have to cook or get better quality food and not worry about quantity.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The housing and the price of the food is really high.

3 College Senior

Administration: Work with students, not against.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: Had to submit extra information each year I did a FAFSA. I felt like I was being audited.

4 College Senior

Campus Food: Good value, more locations closer to Walker please.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There are plenty of old mining houses available but they fill up quickly so you have to act fast.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Its nice if you have a car.

4 College Freshman

Party Scene: Have not personally sought out parties, but I hear they are pretty good.

3 College Freshman

Administration: They are alright at enforcing the rules.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: They have a decent amount of scholarships, you just have to be persistent and don't be afraid to call more than once to try and get any extra aid you can.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: The food is alright, sometimes they have good meals. The cafe and library can make up for some of the food options.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Good environment and buildings have good maintenance staff

Off-Campus Dining: If you don't have a car, you will probably only go off campus to eat very few times. The stuff downtown is within walking distance, but it's somewhat expensive. There are some chain restaurants by Walmart but you have to get there first and it gets repetitive going to Applebee's all the time for half off apps.

3 College Freshman

Administration: Basically, no one cares about anything. Unless someone complains to their RA, they probably won't yell at you for being loud. They never check for alcohol and, if they see that you're drunk, they'll usually just tell you to go back to your room and sleep it off. Nothing is strict at all in the dorms.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: I don't party, but my friends always seem to find something good on the weekends. I think the party scene is a lot better than you would expect from an engineering school full of nerds.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: Financial aid was not hard to accept or anything. I did not know that the process was a hassle for other people past qualifying for the money. All I had to do was go on BanWeb and select which scholarships I was accepting and they came straight off my student bill.

Campus Food: Realistically, the dining hall food is probably just below average for a university. No dining hall is going to serve a five star meal every night. But our food can be pretty awful. A lot of times I end up just getting cereal and eating snacks back in my dorm. One thing that they do very well is gluten free options. They have a little kitchen in the side of the Wads Dining hall that any gluten allergy students are welcome to use to make their meals. Having a few friends with allergies, they say it has a really good selection.

Campus Housing: I moved from Wads to McNair and, while Wads definitely has nicer facilities, McNair has a much better social atmosphere. McNair (and DHH if I remember correctly) is slightly cheaper than Wads because they are not as updated. Living on campus is somewhat convenient but most people try to move out as soon as possible because it is much cheaper to live off campus. There are a lot of apartments and houses for rent really close to campus so it's not hard to remain within walking distance. Overall, on campus housing is just okay. Nothing too horrible about it, but it's not worth the extra money to stay longer than you have to.

Off-Campus Housing: Rent is crazy high because there are only a few landlords in town so there isn't much competition. The town itself is tiny so everything is decently close no matter where you live. Houses are old for the most part except for the apartments that are going up right now.

3 College Student

Off-Campus Dining: There aren't too many options, the real downside being the lack of Mexican and Indian food, but the places that we have are pretty great. The prices are a little high depending on where you go however.

4 College Student

Administration: Not really much to complain about. Campus safety is friendly and helpful. In addition to this, the administration as a whole is pretty good. Biggest flaw is the limited parking options on-campus.

4 College Student

Party Scene: No complaints about the party scene. No crazy ragers or anything but it's pretty great overall.

3 College Student

Scholarships: They didn't give me a whole lot in the way of financial aid, but friends of mine have gotten decent amounts and the process is fairly simple.
