Guys & Girls: Miami is renowned for our beautiful people. The gorgeous girls at Miami take my breath away. Hoping to find a Miami Merger out of all these great gals.

Guys & Girls: People here look preppy, and come from an upper-middle class background. This is true, and it shows at times. If you aren't wealthy and preppy coming here, that won't be a big deal; you'll just end up with great style, and knowledge of how you wanna live when you can afford it. No one will look down on you for being different, unless you dress like a goth or an Otaku. If you're fairly normal, you're golden.

If you're friendly and personable, the people here are also very friendly, and into all sorts of things. With each year, people come out of their shells a bit further, get a bit more unique, and the preppy shallowness fades quickly. Being interesting is more important than fitting in, ultimately. Things are really laid back that way.

What will NOT work is approaching social interaction like networking. Thats not the point here, not at all. Be yourself, have fun, make real friends.

Guys & Girls: Everyone dresses nicely and generally look like they put in an effort to impress each other. It's nice.

Guys & Girls: Miami is known for having attractive, preppy students. That's nice and all, but most people I've met have a chip on their shoulder and are rude and have a stuck-up attitude. They care all about their appearance and many people conform and all look the same. Many people seem to have no life outside of class aside from partying.

Miami has a reputation for being a school with beautiful people, and this is completely on target. Although the guys are good-looking, the girls at this school are even better looking. Most girls are up to date on fashion trends and never leave their room with sweatpants on. They make an effort every day, which is combined with the natural good looks the majority of them possess. But, while this sounds like a good thing, a lot of pressure to look their best is on these girls, which leads to a lot of competitiveness between groups of friends. Many girls have been known to develop eating disorders while attending school here, and the guys tend to work out a decent amount to stay in shape. As far as personalities go, there are so many people at this school that you will be able to find whatever it is you’re looking for in a group of friends.

Social Scene
Most students make friends quickly with the other people who live in their first-year residence hall. It is not uncommon for these students to live together for the rest of their time at Miami. Freshman residences promote social activity, while outside of the residence halls, student organizations provide an excellent opportunity to meet new people.
Hookups or Relationships?
There is a happy mix of both at Miami. There are girls and guys who have no qualms about hooking up for a night. On the other hand, there are also students who are in committed relationships, and some are even engaged or married.
Dress Code
Miami is often referred to as "J.Crew U," and this nickname aptly describes the unofficial dress code of the school. Even when girls go to class in T-shirts and yoga pants, they still pull it off with style. Overall, Miami students take their wardrobes very seriously. Almost all girls own a pair of "Miami sex pants"-tight, black pants that are worn for a night on the town. Guys show up to class in anything from khakis with a nice polo or button-down shirt to jeans and a T-shirt. There is the occasional student who doesn't dress in the Miami norm, but for the most part, students look like they just stepped off the cover of a Abercrombie & Fitch or American Eagle catalog.
