Health & Safety: I feel like Miami is one of the safest colleges I have even been to. We only get two to three crime alerts from the police over email. And I feel like other schools have more crime and sexual assault on their campuses. We are also thought before entering this school that sexual assaults are very important and nothing to ignore. We are required to take a sexual assault test before entering. This helps students learn was to be safe and protect themselfs from it happening around campus.

Overall Experience: Each class I have taken at Miami so far has been great! Class sizes are not too big yet too small. Professors know when to put you on the spot and when to let you learn and soak up the information they are giving you. Overall I have loved all the classes I have taken so far at Maimi.

Overall Experience: We have one of the highest job out of school percentages out of any other college of university. I know I will have a place to work at before or right after graduation. Miami I feel is an honor to have a degree from this school. Plus there are alumni every where you go. You can always meet another RedHawks no matter where you are located.

Campus Housing: During my freshman year I lived in one of the best dorms on western campus called Havighurt hall. There was such a great community feeling there. I knew a lot of people and would always be meeting new faces. This year I am in an older dorm in eastern quad which is now the oldest and smallest dorm there. The lottery system messed everything up. It not that much of a social dorm, and it also makes things difficult because our heater or hot water dose not work all the time. They need to take down Wilson Hall and build a new one. The floors are slanted and there is water damage in the ceiling.

Athletics: Our hokey team is really good! I know my friends and I got to a lot of there games, and they usually run out of seats 30 minutes before the game starts. I have also been to three football games, we could be better at football. My other favorite sporting event to go to would probably be the men's basketball games.

Overall Experience: I love Miami! It's a smaller school then what I was originally going for but I ended up making a lot of friends, and it is easier to get around campus because of how small it is. The professors that I have had are great, they are passionate in what they teach and are always there when you need help. There is no other school I would want to be at other than Miami. Love and Honor!

Overall Experience: I found Miami at the last possible moment, quite literally. The weekend before I had to make my final decision, I was nervous because none of the schools I was accepted to and visited felt "right." When I visited Miami, I almost instantaneously felt at home. The campus is absolutely beautiful and was definitely one of the main things that caught my eye. Oxford, is a fantastic college town and I couldn't imagine living any where else at this point in my life. Once I got to school, I immediately fell in love with my classes and was amazed at how many of my professors knew me on a first same basis. Freshman year, I joined a variety of clubs to try and figure out my niche. Entry level courses are on the easy side, but help to give a wide breath of information that will help a student make an informed decision about what they want to major in. Although I was hesitant at first, I joined a sorority, Chi Omega, and have had the best experience. In just a year, I have met people that have significantly impacted my life for the better and I can not wait to see what the next two and a half years have to offer.

Overall Experience: There are a wide variety of courses offered and the required "Miami Plan" makes it so you have to take a set amount of credit hours in different subjects (Math, Science, Arts, Global Perspectives, etc.)

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

There’s an old saying that goes, “You can make a big school small, but you can’t make a small school big.” The overall experience at Miami University is different for every student, but most seem to have enjoyed their time here, and most will agree that the former part of this statement is representative of Miami. Miami is not a huge school, but it is large enough to feel like a big university without being overwhelming. It is essential to find a niche when you arrive; otherwise, you may get lost in the shuffle. One of the best ways to determine if you will like Miami is to take into consideration what is important to you in a school and to really weigh your options. Visit the campus and ask questions—this is the next four or five years of your life. If Miami does not fulfill an important need you have, it probably isn’t the school for you, and there are people here who feel like they don’t belong.

Nobody enjoys school 100 percent of the time, but the students at Miami have a plethora of options, both social and academic, at their doorsteps. At Miami, you cannot be afraid to try new things, talk to new people, or grow as an individual. However, this is true no matter where you decide to attend college. Overall, the most important fact to take away from this guide is that most students feel that they made the right decision in attending Miami.
