Party Scene: Its a small school and a dry campus so the "party scene" is not very big or crazy. It is safe and most people seem to enjoy it.

3 College Sophomore

There are only a handful of bars that are easily accessible to Mercer, but those that exist are frequented by students. Mercer’s trolley service provides a safe way for students to get to the downtown nightlife. Some bars are stricter than others at the door, and ID checking will always be enforced. Friday and Saturday nights are naturally the most crowded, while weeknights are almost always more affordable. The first Friday of every month is an extremely popular night to go downtown due to its open-container policy and live music performances. You should be advised, however, that it will probably be much more difficult to get a drink due to the high volume of locals and students.

If bars do not appeal to you or you are underage, there are regular fraternity parties on the weekends. Many are held in off-campus locations due to Mercer’s dry campus policy, but there are usually designated drivers to transport people to and from campus. There is a respectable amount of themed parties held throughout the year that usually have a very high attendance rate, especially among girls. Drinking does occur on campus, but Mercer’s current dry-campus policy forces students to contain and control their partying.

Club ListingsWhat's This?

Envy is a genuine nightclub in the downtown area, complete with a dress code and fairly heavy security that can seem a little daunting on the outside looking in. That being said, it has a very different and edgy feel to it, with two bars facing one another, a heavy mix of bricks and stainless steel, a DJ booth, and an upstairs poker lounge. It is a great environment for dancing, though the dance floor can get crowded quickly.
