It's very difficult and a long, drawn out process. There are multiple deadlines to meet for different parts of the application. Most important criteria would be your grades! Students are ranked in categories based on GPA, whether they are transfer students, whether they have any marks on their record (DWI, MIP, felonies, etc.), and whether they have retaken courses. Students are only allowed to apply for the College of Nursing if they have completed all prerequisite classes and have attained no lower than a C. You are allowed 2 "D" grades for prerequisite courses, any more than 2 you do not meet criteria to be able to apply. There are a minimum number of spots for each semester, so depending on which category you fall into determines your chance of being accepted. Although the process is very stressful, once you receive the "Acceptance Letter," it is EXTREMELY worth it!

As a first time freshman I as scared to ask for help. I was scared to ask for help because there was this myth that everything is done on your own and that college professors don't care about who you are. That myth is not technically true. At my college, McNeese State University, professors are really helpful and asking for help is encouraged! Although the work is difficult sometimes going to their office hours can be a great deal of help. I'm just happy I chose this college ! Everyone is really nice and seems to be working hard!

I absolutely love how friendly everyone is here on campus. It is a very small campus so you see your professors everywhere and they always smile and wave. The clubs on campus host great events that are very interactive and connectable to all students. I would choose this school over and over again, the administration makes McNeese feel like home to me. I wouldn't change going to this school for anything!
