Drug Safety: Maryville University has a black and white policy: no drugs or alcohol or anything relating to those products is allowed on campus at any time for minors. If students are of age and wish to consume alcohol they are allowed to do so in their own room. Smoking is allowed in parked cars with the windows rolled up.

What drug scene? There is rarely drug activity here, and most students are stunned to hear about anything related to drugs on campus. Everyone is too involved with activities or academics to even worry about drugs. It is not a huge issue, but if someone in the administration is aware of a student participating in illegal activities, consequences will follow immediately. Anyone using substances may get one warning, but quick actions are taken to end the problem.

The school sends out a strong message to eliminate any possibilities of drugs on campus. The punishments for drugs are very strict, so don't even bring them onto campus. Of course, there is a small percentage of people who like to be rebellious by taking drugs in the privacy of their own rooms, but they will likely get caught and possibly expelled from the University.
