Administration: This is the best school I have ever been to

Local Area: The town is wonderful, and everyone has a positive attitude. Its a great place if you like small towns but there is not much activities and attractions in the area. An hour away is Iowa City, a neighboring college town home of University of Iowa, and a small city that has everything you want or need. But in Fairfield there are great restaurants, a great music and art scene. A hub for poetry and spoken word, with groups meeting and collaborating every day. With students from over 80 countries represented at MUM there is a cultural celebration or festival nearly every weekend, giving you a chance to experience that culture and the food, dance, music, and traditions of many other countries. There are many clubs on campus and in town that meet for everything from sports to knitting to hooping.

Health & Safety: There is little to no campus crime. There have been a few thefts on campus, but the personal safety is ideal. Everyone feels safe and comfortable around campus, and many people keep their cars and houses unlocked due to the safety of the community of Fairfield and campus. There are security guards on call at all times to help, and easy to get ahold of due to the phones all over campus with the easy to remember extension number. The security works closely with the town police. I always feel very safe on campus.

Administration: The strict policies in the dorm are almost archaic. The separation of men and women is insulting to the student body.

Health & Safety: I have not heard about any sexual assaults since I've been going to school there, but I'm sure there would be ample response in trying to help the victim.

Scholarships: I received financial aid, but I still have to pay out of pocket for some tuition and all of my books and lab fees.

Greek Life: We don't have a greek life and I doubt we ever will

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Quality: Students need more space for everything.

2 Recent Alumnus

Campus Food: On campus there is a cafe (limited hours), and the cafeteria (very limited hours). The food is organic, but it's hardly cooked in a pleasing manner.

Local Area: Fairfield is a tiny town in the middle of Iowa, there's not much to do.

3 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: Some classes are very biased as to the university's beliefs. They do use the block system, though, and that is the best part about the school.

Overall Experience: There's an alumni association but I don't know how well it works.

3 Recent Alumnus

Party Scene: There are only 3 bars in Fairfield, and they're mainly only busy on the weekends.

Campus Housing: Most of the buildings are extremely old and not kept up well.

Off-Campus Housing: Fairfield is a very small town, so there aren't a lot of options when you want to live off-campus.

5 Recent Alumnus

Diversity: Almost everyone you meet on campus has a very different background from yourself. A large percentage of the student body is international and come from all over the world.

3 College Senior

Party Scene: Not really nightlife at school. Some school events go late and some events in town until 2 am. Not very often.

4 College Senior

Administration: Very strict no drug or alcohol policy. School safety helpful and vigilant, town police nice. No men in girls dorms, there are some dorms where co-ed is okay but not overnight. All school funded activities alcohol and drug free.

4 College Senior

Local Area: Lots of activities for students and locals. Open mike nights every week, fairs, car shows, art walks, plays and dances, music nights. Availability for new shows and events.

4 College Senior

Campus Food: Vegetarian campus and all organic food. Variety everyday with some good staples like salad bar. Food hot and good.
