5 College Senior

Campus Food: Wonderful variety on campus. I don't have a problem finding something I want to eat!

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The food on campus could be better but at the same time it could be worse. I think it would be nice if there were more options that are healthier or at least not all dowsed in oil.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Sometimes the noodles are too greasy and sometimes the options aren't the healthiest, but overall I am well fed!

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Nothing special. Its all about standard now that sodexo took over.

5 College Junior

Campus Food: I love campus dining because there are many healthy and allergy friendly choices. I just wish there were more late night options that were healthy as well.

Nowhere is Luther’s push towards sustainability more evident than the Caf. Since the local foods program started, the fare has grown fresher, tastier, and healthier. Still, for students tired of the same meal rotation, Marty’s, Oneota Market, and Sunnyside are there to provide something more varied. However, all of them close up shop by evening, so late-night cravings will have to be satisfied by vending machines or goodies from home.

Still, the food itself at Luther—from any of the dining establishments—is top choice, as long as you mix it up. Eating in the Caf every day will be as boring as eating in Marty’s every day, but if that’s your cup of tea (or your tall double macchiato caramel latte with espresso), so be it.

Did You Know?
  • College students grow some of the food, and it's actually good! Luther has a student garden in a field next to Baker Village, where some of the Caf's veggies are harvested, and Luther makes an effort to procure as much food locally as possible.
  • When you see a "Local Foods Night" coming, you know that something good is on the way.
