Off-Campus Housing: You have to look hard for a good spot!!

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: You have to drive a bit. Have a Mcdonalds, taco bell, sonic, wendys, and Walmart near by

2 College Junior

Administration: If you are a girl. NO BOYS ALLOWED. vice versa. Your freshman year you have a curfew.

2 College Junior

Party Scene: Not much of a party school!!! YOU SHOULD NOT GO TO COLLEGE TO FOR PARTYING ALL THE TIME. IF THAT IS THE CASE DON'T COME TO LCU. IT IS TO EXPENSIVE FOR YOUR MONEY TO GO TO WASTE!!

3 College Junior

Campus Food: The cafeteria food is not good! There is some days when its okay.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: Housing is not to bad. It all depends who you live with and what you do, to not get in trouble. It is very strict your freshman year.

Local Area: The City of Lubbock is Okay. I come from North Dallas so the aesthetics there in cities are much nicer. Of course once you get outside Lubbock its dirt and cotton everywhere practically. The City of Lubbock is VERY flat and we do have a lot of sand in the air at times especially in the Spring - Summer Time . The roads are terrible. Very bumpy and the will literally flood after 20 minutes of rain. The city is 250,000 appx population. LCU is a the 'OK' Side of Lubbock in My opinion . Tech of course is the nicest area . There are some pretty bad sides. Its a pretty Low-Middle Class City. I just am not used to this . I will be leaving Lubbock ASAP once I graduate .

Campus Housing: I was a little shocked at the Room Checks the RA's do every night to ensure your in your room by your curfew in Johnson Hall and Katie Rogers Hall Only that is. (Freshman who are out of High School for more than 2 Semesters Don't have Curfew but still have room checks) The Housing is Nice except for the Mabee Living Center (Its old and run down) but the Rec Center, Apartments on Campus are defiantly the nicest, they have the most privacy and you don't have Room Checks which makes me feel like I'm 12 years old and wakes me up occasionally. You are allowed to have visitors above 17 yrs old in Johnson Hall and Katie Rogers only On Friday Nights , and you have to keep your dorm door open and will be checked by RA every 10 minutes.. That mainly goes for female visitors of course. Male visitors are allowed anytime in the day and of course anytime if its a male student

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: I live on Campus so IDK how Off Campus is but I know your first 4 Semesters (Maybe 2 Idk for sure ) your required to live on campus unless you live in lubbock and/or file a petition

Majors: The Nursing Program is amazing. Covenant School of Nursing is literally right on campus and will be one Fall 2015 . The teaching Bible majors, biology, ESS, Health science majors are great as well

College Freshman

Party Scene: Not into the whole Party scene as Im not taking my chances with getting caught or getting into wrong crowd, as the Dean of Students will probably find out :) Lol but I have no clue

5 College Freshman

Scholarships: I was surprised when I got a scholarship for a 18 on My ACT. You can also receive an additional 500$ scholarship each year (it will go up each year adding onto you existing academic scholarships, which aren't hard to get or maintain)

Administration: The Administration will be very involved in your life which is a good thing. The President and Dean are very prevalent in the college and you will see them at chapel and on campus. Most students are on a name basis as well with the administration , but not as much as they are with professors. Most students aren't on that Name basis with the Admin cause of being in trouble its just because they care a lot. The Dean of Students is very good at being available for any questions, reports, or concerns you would ever have. He will Squash any incidence of Bullying, Harassment, etc Immediately and he won't tolerate it . Which is what is to be expected, but sally some colleges are more lenient on these things, not LCU. They want a Safe Environment. Yes, of course there have been incidences on harassment but thats everywhere, and Like I said it won't be tolerated .

Athletics: Athletics are NCAA . No one pays much attention to the Games as Much as the Tech games in town.

Overall Experience: LCU has amazed me with how much the professors care for their students. My average class size is 14-18 Students. Its great having a small class versus 400 people jammed in a auditorium. Everyone is on a name by name basis with their professors. The dorms are nice, washing machines need to be update badly, and the wireless network is available in most if not all buildings and also when walking through the mall area outside theirs wifi. The speed is not so great. Its Average. Many sites are blocked Like websites Ive visited; Covenant School of Nursing, Covenant Hospital, Different College websites, certain airline sites, and my College I was doing Online CEU with Was Blocked!! So I have to use my iPhones Hotspot for internet. But anyways besides the internet and washing machines campus is great, we have a Starbucks too :) . Students are nice, Most are from the area so the best thing to do is to make yourself approachable by talking and joining clubs and try not to be quiet as Most students here know each other from High School and already have their "groups" . Overall Im very Glad I chose LCU overall my colleges.

Party Scene: I feel we have enough extracaricular activities to keep us occupied, but not so many that we feel overwhelmed. Also most of our extracaricular activities are Christian based which is a big plus to my Christian family. The campus also involves parents and guardians in many different programs and activities.

Majors: Being a first generation college student has made it difficult to understand the process at times. My mother and I not being familiar with the process has baffled us at times as to what the next step in the financial process will incure. However, the staff at LCU has been wonderful in guiding us through the this process. They show amazing patience as year after year my mother and I enter their offices countless times asking questions we have asked hundreds of times.

I think the most important criteria for admission is academics and a Christian background. I think the application process is about the same as it would be in any other college institution. My tip to new students is just be sure to have all the information required for grants, scholarships, and loans processed in time for enrollment.

Scholarships: I did not get as much help as I would have liked, but I did get some help.

Campus Housing: They are old building and could use some help.

3 College Junior

Party Scene: I do not attend parties so I'm not sure

4 College Junior

Greek Life: Our clubs do a lot with the school, but no one makes a big deal if you do not join.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: I have always lived off campus and if you do enough searching it is worth it.

4 College Junior

Athletics: Athletics are fun and our teams do well every year.
