A good portion of students do go out to area bars and clubs. Being in New Orleans and close to downtown, it is fairly easy to walk, or you can take the streetcar or pay for a taxi to get to one of these many places. There are some house parties on Broadway, but typically students go out to the bars and clubs.

Freshmen tend to try out The Boot as their first experience out but then venture out to other places. Some places will let underage students in as long as they wear a bracelet saying they are under 21, but some students go out and enjoy the other parts of New Orleans. If any stduent is out and does not feel safe coming home, he or she can call SafeRide to get an escorted ride home.
