Local Area: Always something to do or a concert to see. Bars are always alive.

Local Area: I love New Orleans! Like every city, it has its pros and cons, but Loyola is located uptown, which has a much more relaxed kind of vibe about it. We are right on St Charles, so any itch for the lights and high-energy of downtown can be fulfilled easily. There is plenty to do around campus and the transportation is fairly competent. There are plenty of parks and fields, as well as every kind of bar you can imagine. The food here is amazing too, and there are highly-concentrated shopping areas every which way from campus.

Local Area: New Orleans is amazing. I could not be happier with the location except for the fact that I miss the beach.

The atmosphere on campus is one of relaxation and love of everyone. No matter where you go, you will meet someone who will be happy to help you. However, always exercise caution when out in the city. Many venues offer student discounts with a valid student ID to make products more affordable to students.

Most students go off campus for entertainment, but there are a few who prefer to stay on campus and entertain themselves with on-campus events. In fact, some of these students actually attend events at Tulane Univeristy because it is practically right next door. For Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Loyola's Black Student Union teams up with Tulane, Dillard, and Xavier University to plan an MLK Day of Service and plan events for the week prior.
