3 College Freshman

Campus Food: There are a lot of options but not much for vegans.

3 College Senior

Campus Food: Since the new switch over of the meal plan the food choices and dinning options on campus has depleted since my freshman year.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Food at Loyola is kind of a hit or miss. Boulder stinks, but Iggy's is definitely worth the ten minute walk if you live on the other side of campus.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Compared to other schools, the food is not terrible. Sometimes the meat isn't cooked properly. The pizza is often greasy. Starbucks, Cold Spring Sushi, and the smoothie place are the best options.

3 Recent Alumnus

Campus Food: Could be better, but they have made strides in order to improve it.

Sodexo operates Loyola University Maryland's dining facilities. Although there is no traditional dining hall, there are 15 individual dining platforms across campus with national brands including Boar's Head Deli, Moe's Southwest Grill, Red Mango, Starbucks, Vocelli Pizza, and Wow Café & Wingery. Iggy's Market features fresh home-style meals, as well as grocery and convenient store items, and Boulder Garden Café has a new section called Iggy's Express, which offers more healthy home-style options for students. Loyola dining has also recently implemented many gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options, and they are very accommodating for students with food allergies. There is also a regular dining committee on campus. Loyola Dining encourages students to join and share their ideas to help make the dining service as compatible with the students needs as possible.

There is not a traditional college meal plan at Loyola University Maryland—dining is a 100 percent retail account. As a student you are given a declining balance card that works like a debit card, and each student puts a balance of his or her choice on either the Dining Advantage account or the Evergreen account. The Dining Advantage account is tax exempt and can only be used at dining locations on campus. The Evergreen account has a 6 percent sales tax and can be used at all of the dining locations as well as anywhere else on campus, such as the bookstore and the laundry facilities.
