Which restaurant is the most popular in Chicago? The question is impossible to answer. The city is packed with some of the finest eateries in the world. Overall, Chicagoans love big, hearty dinners, so you won't have that much success finding lighter fare. Don't worry about it! One of the most important things for a person new to Chicago to do is enjoy the food. So buy some pants with an elastic waistband and pig out. Windy City cuisine shines most in its many ethnically diverse neighborhoods. Devon Avenue is home to a bevy of Indian and Middle Eastern restaurants. If you're looking for Mexican, go north on Clark Street. Crave Chinese? Get off the Red Line at 35th Street. If you want it, you can find it in Chicago.

Some students would point out that none of the best restaurants in the city are located near Loyola's main campus. This is not entirely true. While Rogers Park is not as wealthy in fine dining as some other Chicago neighborhoods, students should certainly explore their local options. Nearly all of the restaurants near the Lake Shore Campus are family owned and serve great food. Each one has something great to offer: Carmen's has the best buffet near campus, Giordano's has some of the best deep-dish pizza in Chicago, Great Wall offers the most food for the least amount of money, and so on. To top it off, all but a few fit right into a student's tight budget. If you find yourself somehow displeased with all the restaurants in Loyola's area, go to another neighborhood. You'll find something you like, guaranteed.

Did You Know?
What is Chicago-style pizza? A deep dish pie, deeper than any dish you've ever imagined, stuffed with cheese and whatever toppings you want, and then smothered in thick tomato sauce. The key here is that the tomato sauce is on top of the cheese.
