Overall Experience: The school is a good size, not so small that you don't have options but not so big that you get lost in the crowd. There are a lot of services set up to help if you need it and all of my instructors so far have been very helpful. They make learning interesting instead of boring.

Student Body: The Student Body at Lower Columbia College is completely diverse. I see people of all different walks of nature, whether it's race, ethnicity, religion, physical appearence, or career interests, LCC truly has a special mix of students.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Because I am in Running Start, I do not have to pay regular tuition, just basic class fees. These fees are usually less than 100 dollars and it's practically going to college for free.

Career Services: LCC offers great programs for post-grads. After obtaining a degree, students have many options to choose from. Lower Columbia College has a great mechanics and industry program that is very popular.

Academic Experience: While I have not chosen a major yet, Lower Columbia College is great. I am taking pre-requisite courses to prepare me for transferring to a 4 year university after obtaining my AA degree from LCC.

Academic Experience: LCC offers a wide range of academic opportunities. Being a community college in a small town does not affect LCC in any way. All of the professors I have had the pleasure to work with, whether online or not, have been great and really care about their student's success. The cirriculum is gone over within the first few days of classes and made easy to understand by each and every student. Registering for classes is not difficult, which is awesome. I am in a program called Running Start, which allows me to attend high school but also take college courses at the same time and potentially obtain my AA degree along with my high school diploma. Because I am in the Running Start program, I have one advisor who helps me choose my classes based on my goals and interests. LCC also has free tutoring. You can call in or make an appointment online and it's absolutely free of charge. Having this option for students is great because it allows students to succeed.

Campus Resources: Lower Columbia College has a great student center above the cafeteria, so it isn't far away from being able to grab lunch or use the restroom. The student center is a nice place to sit and chat with friends or sit in a cubicle and get work done. The library at LCC is two stories and contains numerous students computers, plenty of books, comfortable places to sit, and free tutoring. Having tutors readily available for any subject is really great and makes LCC unique. Having this program allows students to succeed and get better grades that they may have not otherwise obtained. Lower Columbia College also has fun campus activities. At the beginning and end of each school year, they hold Red Devil Days around campus. It's basically a huge barbecue for students to hangout and celebrate their completion of a school year or the beginning of a new one. LCC also has a brand new athletic center. It's newly remodeled with a gym free for students to use. It also has workout classes like yoga and spinning. Lower Columbia College is truly a great place to go to school and strives to provide the best college experience for its students.

Online Courses: First, they make you buy a $200 book just for some stupid code on the inside cover to get internet access to a web site, then you don't even use the damned book that cost you $200! Also, with hybrid classes, most of the assignments are vague at best. Lots of room for improvement on the faculties part.

Academic Flexibility: Behind all the smoke and mirrors lies a faculty and administration of hacks, liars, washouts and all around poor quality people. You are far better of spending your money somewhere else. That's a fact.

Overall Experience: In hindsight, I wouldn't recommend this charade of a school to anyone. I really wouldn't. I will not send my children here in the future, and would highly recommend that you save your time and money for a better education somewhere else. Life is uncertain, but I can almost guarantee that you will regret attending this fa├žade that somehow passes for a public institution.

Academic Experience: Not that challenging besides the math courses. When I say that, it's because some of the advanced math teaches should be teaching middle school in my opinion. Some teachers, as long as you smile and kiss their butt a little, will give passing grades. At middle age, I found the faculty to be lacking any integrity whatsoever.

Academic Experience: One thing you must understand. LCC is in Longview, WA, and has one of the states highest ignorance rates per capita, along with highest drug use per capita, teen pregnancies per capita, and STD's per capita. They cannot strive for excellence at LCC, for if they did, 3/4 of the school would flunk out.

Campus Resources: If you like Minute-mart food every day, then LCC's cafeteria is for you. Most campus representatives are full of crap and phony. The gym is at the nearby high school, library is O.K, but nothing to write home about and if you don't fall into conformity, then you might be singled out.

Career Services: The alumni club is just a good ol' boy club from what I hear and any type of job placement is mostly fictional. Sure, they tell you what you want to hear, but when it comes time to help you out, LCC is at a loss.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Financial aid here is a horrible joke. Last summer, they didn't even give me any money until 6 weeks into the 8 week quarter, and I had all my ducks in a row. This put so much undo strain on me, I had to live on my friend's sofa for 2 months. LCC sucks all around.

Academic Flexibility: Prepare to go to the campus two times a day. Fact. Most classes are so small they are only given once a day, at night for example, while the rest of your classes are in the morning. LCC stinks.

Overall Experience: I will not, to anyone, recommend this college. The last year has been the worst experience of my life because the teachers harass students and when you call B.S. on them, administration will almost remove your ability to complete your courses with rumor spreading, slander and verbal harassment given to you by your teachers every day. I'm surprised this college is still open to teach. It seems teaching is the last thing on their priority list.

Academic Experience: My certificate program seems to be hodge podged together and almost half my required classes don't have anything to do with the field i'm going into. I feel it's a waste of time, but you've got to pay the piper, I guess.

Academic Experience: Spoke to the dean about a childish teacher calling me names. Administration said it didn't happen and placed me on academic probation for " giving false information". Dissapointed and pissed on every level to say the least. Disgusted that our tax payer dollars are funding this corruption.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Everyone knows the financial aid dept. at LCC sucks eggs, and hard. It takes an act of god to get your award. I went 6 weeks into an 8 week summer quarter before I received any financial aid. which strained my family's resources and added undue stress to the equation that was not appreciated. A poor, poor joke.

Online Courses: I felt the whole time I was taking a hybrid class that I already knew everything because I had read the book the day before AND had the teacher talk about ti the day prior also. Redundant to say the least.

Campus Resources: To me, campus resources could be so much more. Almost all departments are very lackluster, including the student kitchen. Prepare to eat minute mart food for 2 years. A huge shift in administrative practices would benefit this college, I think. Until that happens, LCC will continue to erode under the guise of "higher education". LCC sucks. Fact.

Student Body: I found it very difficult to like anyone at this college. Most people are complete and utterly sickening suck ups. Some are even willing to harass other students if the teacher tells them to. I've witnessed this. Truly sickening. Altogether, I found the student body's behavior far worse than in high school. The teachers are pretty immature as well.

Academic Experience: I have taken one previous major at this same college and the program was very informational. The instructors are more than willing to spend extra time with the students, and success is easily achievable for students whom try.
