5 College Senior

Career Services: The faculty is extremely supportive and help a lot to ensure that doors continue opening.

3 College Junior

Career Services: There are events that are announced on the school website pertaining to alumni networking. Job prospects can always be available, but the key is to building and maintaining relationships. There are several professors who were former students at the school, who ended up coming back to teach at the school. I have went to the career center a few times, and there was a former student who was working there, who helped me obtain information about the school I'd like to transfer to. The center is small and usually very crowded and some students sometimes get frustrated because of the little time they can spend with their counselors. My experience at the career center was fair enough, as I had received assistance in what I wanted to know.

2 Recent Alumnus

Career Services: To my knowledge they don't have help for future jobs. Just info for open houses.

4 College Sophomore

Career Services: They have workshops for you to go to in case you're interested in what majors, infos on college, and even the college its self.

2 College Sophomore

Career Services: It's not the best to be honest.

Though not all students take advantage of the Career & Transfer Center, those who do find that it can be an excellent resource in helping students plan their future goals. Students are pleased with the friendly and helpful staff and find the resources offered by the Transfer Center to be invaluable. The Transfer Center has workshops throughout the year and also hosts admissions reps from all the major universities in California, helping students feel prepared for whatever steps they decide to take post-graduation.

In today’s world, an associate's degree won’t get you very far in the job market; however, Valley College can give students a leg up towards obtaining a higher degree. The California community colleges are set up as feeder schools to the University of California and Cal State universities. Though not all courses will transfer to each campus, students who plan their courses carefully with the help of and the counselors at the Transfer Center will find that they can complete nearly all of their lower-division and general education coursework before they transfer to a four-year college.
