Though not all students take advantage of the Career & Transfer Center, those who do find that it can be an excellent resource in helping students plan their future goals. Students are pleased with the friendly and helpful staff and find the resources offered by the Transfer Center to be invaluable. The Transfer Center has workshops throughout the year and also hosts admissions reps from all the major universities in California, helping students feel prepared for whatever steps they decide to take post-graduation.
In today’s world, an associate's degree won’t get you very far in the job market; however, Valley College can give students a leg up towards obtaining a higher degree. The California community colleges are set up as feeder schools to the University of California and Cal State universities. Though not all courses will transfer to each campus, students who plan their courses carefully with the help of assist.org and the counselors at the Transfer Center will find that they can complete nearly all of their lower-division and general education coursework before they transfer to a four-year college.
