Tuition & Financial Aid: I live with my single father, and my sister who is also in community college. We are 18 and 19. Our dad's after-taxes income was only $73,000. We only got $825 in grants per semester (tuition is around $2000 + $250 for books), and loans only for the summer semesters. It was disappointing. I had to work 40+ hours a week to make my tuition payments until I started pulling out loans.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Due to the fact that it is a community college, rather than a university, the cost is 1/8 of what it would be at a university. The FAFSA can be very helpful at this institution to the point you may not have to pay anything out of pocket.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The college actively tries to help you in as best a way as possible and offers a fairly cheap tuition.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Lord Fairfax Community College is one of the best decisions I have ever made. With university tuition so expensive, I knew that I would be attending a community college. However, I had no idea just how much I would enjoy my experience and how comfortable I would feel attending the school. Tuition is probably the number one concern for college students, so community college is an obvious choice for someone looking to save money. Not only is the tuition more affordable than universities, but LFCC offers numerous resources for students and quality education. The library is full of computers, conference rooms, study rooms, reading material, and assistance all for the benefit of the student. The student success center is full of kind people who are knowledgeable and willing to guide students down the correct path. The financial aid office staff are always full of ways to help students utilize scholarship opportunities and financial assistance. The professors are passionate about their subject and truly care about your success. The location is perfect, the professors and staff are wonderful, the facilities are clean, the resources are incredible, and LFCC is definitely worth my time and money.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I've paid every semester with money from my college fund and the school marked it as a scholarship and it took days past the due date to actually get into my account and pay for my classes. The same with the scholarship I was awarded in my freshman year and the scholarship I was awarded for my sophomore year. The financial aid office wasn't very helpful in telling me why it was taking so long for it to get into my account. While some classes were worth the money for tuition, some weren't worth the money I paid to take the class.
