Overall Experience: I like the environment of the school. I wish it was a bit more upbeat. Everyone on the campus seems to be very quiet and keeps to themselves.

Academic Flexibility: Lord Fairfax has a fairly large selection of classes and time throughout the week. It is easy enough to take classes around work and family. Classes are offered Monday through Thursday, some even on Friday and Saturday, from 8 AM to 7 PM.

Online Courses: I have only taken one online course during my time at LFCC, and it has been fine. I also taken an traditional style class with the same professor, and she still brings the same level of enthusiasm for teaching her online students as she did in the regular class room. I think the class is more challenging since it is not in a traditional classroom setting, but it is still doable.

Overall Experience: LFCC has been a great stepping stone from high school to the real world. It has helped me get over the fear of the difficulty of college. There can be hard work at times, but the professor are usually very helpful, and want to see everyone succeed.

Academic Flexibility: There is a pretty good range of class times and many classes are available in several forms such as online or 8 or 12-week schedule.

Online Courses: As far as the online system goes, it was easy to use and didn't have any bugs or glitches. However, it was more difficult to communicate with my online professor than with my in-person professors. I will still be taking online courses because they are very convenient and flexible.

Career Services: From my experience with the advising staff and in the College Success Skills course, I think that LFCC puts a lot of effort into preparing their students for the next steps after community college. My adviser made sure to recommend courses that would be applicable to a school I want to transfer to, so that I wouldn't waste money retaking classes.

Overall Experience: Two of my three professors were excellent, but my History professor bumps the rating down to 3/5. My Biology professor was very enthusiastic about the course materials and subject in general, knowledgeable, prompt with grades, and very willing and available to help. The College Success Skills teacher as well obviously cares about his students and wants them to do well in school. My History professor, however, seemed almost non-existent. She was okay with returning grades quickly, but she never gave feedback on assignments. I asked for feedback twice and she only gave a one-sentence critique one of the times I asked. While I did not try to meet with her in person, one of my Biology classmates did. Apparently she was not available during her posted office hours. I also noticed several errors in the online quizzes where the incorrect answer was selected in the computer as correct. I am hoping that my next online class will go a little better as I am taking another one this coming semester.

Academic Experience: Right now, I just doing general studies with a focus on science, so I wouldn't say I'm in a specific program. However, I really enjoy most of my classes and generally like my teachers. The work load is reasonable; I was able to get a 4.0 in 8 credits worth of classes while working about 30 hours a week. The curriculum has been good so far. I appreciate that the same text book is used for BIO 101 and 102. I have not had much experience with job opportunities, but I know that there are many on-campus jobs available.

Overall Experience: My first semester at Lord Fairfax was an enjoyable experience overall, although I did have some issues with the professor of my online History class. I like that there are a lot of organized student activities events and the convenience of the Vint Hill location, which is about 8 minutes from my house. All of the staff I have encountered (besides the aforementioned History prof.) have been knowledgeable, friendly, and very willing to help. I also really appreciate that they don't make us pay for parking passes like some schools do. I'd say it's been a very good value for the reasonable cost.

Academic Flexibility: At LFCC it is very easy to schedule classes around YOUR schedule. There are many of the same classes offered at different times to accompany your schedule.

Academic Experience: While the education is great at LFCC, It cannot compete with programs at four year schools as it does not have the funds or the opportunities to.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Friendly faculty and staff along with quality education that is affordable.

Overall Experience: I absolutely love Lord Fairfax Commmunity college. I have attended both the Fauquier and Middletown campuses. The college is smaller so it is quick to get around campus and to the parking lot! The professors and security really do care about you and will make it a point to k now you by name. Attending a community college before a 4 year university was the best decision I ever made. I saved thousands of dollars in doing so. The campuses are also close to me so I didn't have to live on campus and was able to keep my job. Overall I've had a positive experience at LFCC. Go Lions!

Overall Experience: The cost benefits outweigh some of the issues I ran into. There are not many class times or teachers to choose from and the students outside of medical programs where not open to meeting new people.

Overall Experience: I have no idea what the alumni network is like, and I have never heard of any recruiters on campus, other than for the health professions students.

5 College Senior

Online Courses: I love deciding when I want to do my schoolwork.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I live with my single father, and my sister who is also in community college. We are 18 and 19. Our dad's after-taxes income was only $73,000. We only got $825 in grants per semester (tuition is around $2000 + $250 for books), and loans only for the summer semesters. It was disappointing. I had to work 40+ hours a week to make my tuition payments until I started pulling out loans.

Career Services: There's an online career services job board for students, but there isn't much on it.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: I am earning an Associates Degree in General Studies, so I don't have a major or program.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: I take classes completely online, so i don't participate in internships, clubs, or activities. The testing center that i take exams in is very nice and quiet, located in the library. 80% of the professors i've had online have been friendly and helpful. I have dropped two classes in the first couple of days before due to a not-so-friendly professor. The workload is a breeze at 15 credits while working part-time.

Campus Resources: The new buildings are very nice, with comfy seating and nice filtered water fountains. The older buildings are a little run-down, but it's a community college. The buildings could be a little closer together. Overall, it's pretty nice for a rural CC.

4 College Senior

Career Services: Lots of colleges visit the campus to talk about transferring. The staff in the career center are so nice and always willing to help

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: I personally don't always have time to participate in things because of work, but I hear it's great. The library, front desk, and offices are all welcoming and the staff is great

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: My overall experience has been great. It will help me move forward towards my future career.
