3 College Freshman

Local Area: Lock Haven is a small town. There isn't much to do but that doesn't mean you will be bored. I make sure to stay busy and the campus offers trips and activities everyday. I also am an outdoorsy person and there is plenty of state parks and hiking trails around. The town is definitely suffocatingly small sometimes and it can be very frustrating, because I am used to a bigger city.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: It is a small town but there is some charm to it. It's also a pretty place to be if you like nature. There are state parks you can camp at and enjoy the mountain scenery.

2 College Senior

Local Area: The town is very boring and does not offer many things to do. The locals are rude and racist. The area is safe at least, however you are in the middle of nowhere. There are some things to do outside such as hiking, fishing, etc. There is not much cultural diversity in this area at all. It is 30-45 minutes to the nearest malls.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: It's nice and quiet. Also, Everybody is very nice, but there's just nothing to do. The only thing close by is the movie theater.

3 College Senior

Local Area: small town without many modern amenities.

Lock Haven is a place of relaxation and fresh air. It's locally known for its scenery and outdoor opportunities. If you love the outdoors, you can go hiking, tubing down the Susquehanna, swimming, boating, or you can enjoy a nice walk around town. Every year, there are boat races at Riverfest, which has a live band, games, food, and socializing events for all.

The small town gives off a homey vibe and is very old fashioned. There is one movie theater in town that offers the latest film selections. The population of Lock Haven is around 9,000 and is generally a very friendly community. A place to relax and have a nice cup of coffee is at the downtown coffee shop called Avenue 209, which brings students and townspeople together. If you like the outdoors and being in a small town setting, Lock Haven is the college for you. If you want to get away, Penn State and Bloomsburg are only an hour away. Penn State has a lot of places for food and entertainment.
