3 College Freshman

Athletics: I don't participate in varsity sports but the rec center is awesome and I enjoy rock climbing and taking yoga class there.

3 College Senior

Athletics: Athletics at LHU are okay. Students are not overly involved in supporting athletics. Women's sports tend to perform better than men's sports here. I would say school spirit is in the middle of the road. The athletic facilities are not bad, but could use a little improvement.

College Freshman

Athletics: I have not attended enough athletic events in order to provide an accurate rating of athletics.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: i dont pay any mind

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Most of the students and faculty are very into sports and show up for games as well as meets to show support. Most students on campus are part of one thing or another.

Compared to other colleges, sporting events at Lock Haven are nothing special. Not many students attend, so school spirit is nonexistent and could use a lot of improvement. There are two Division I teams: women’s field hockey and men’s wrestling. The NCAA Division II women’s softball team won national championships in 2006 and 2009, respectively, but the football team hasn’t won a game in years. On the other hand, club sports are very popular, and many students get involved with them, making T-shirts and showing up for the events. You will find more students talking about intramural games than the varsity ones.

The well-maintained and clean Lock Haven facilities allow athletes and nonathletes alike to maximize their training and get the best possible results. The football field is located at the top of a hill and has a gorgeous view of Lock Haven. It’s a hike to get to the top, but when one reaches it, the view is picturesque. The gym at Lock Haven is very up-to-date and packed. There is a rock-climbing wall, a lifting room, a track, three basketball courts, racquetball, aerobics rooms, and a sauna. Overall, the gym facility is the place to be and to socialize.
