4 College Senior

Weather: It's perfect for the typical pacific northwestern girl.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: It is especially beautiful in the fall with the changing seasons. It is located in an agriculture area where rain is essential and we get a lot of it. Lots of times it is grey and gloomy but when it is sunny and warm it is fantastic to be in the outdoors. We rarely get snow or cold weather which is nice.

3 College Freshman

Weather: It rains almost everyday of the year.

4 College Freshman

Weather: The local weather has no real affect on the campus experience. Everything is so close together that you don't have to travel through miles of snow or rain to get to classes or to your dorm. The farthest building is the Library, but even then its a 10 minute walk or 5 minute bicycle ride.

3 College Senior

Weather: It is typical Oregon weather. It can rain a lot, but also be very nice and sunny, especially at the beginning and end of the school year.

Due to the four seasons in Oregon, students at Linfield try to take advantage of all the outdoor sports available to them. During the winter, skiing and snowboarding are popular, while the warmer weather in the spring and summer brings camping at state parks or surfing at beaches near the coast. Of course, the Pacific Northwest has its share of rain and overcast days, and depending on the student, there are mixed feelings about the rain; some feel the weather is bipolar, while others believe there is still fun to be had. Overall, the weather is gorgeous when the sun shines and beautiful in the fall with the seasonal change.

Despite the rainy weather, most students enjoy the different seasons. Autumn is beautiful on campus and in the town's surrounding areas. McMinnville rarely gets snow; however, Linfield has a snowboarding and ski club where a student can enjoy the winter sports by the coast at Mount Hood, which is approximately two hours away from campus. There is also a Hawaiian club on campus, where students take advantage of surfing by the coast. Although it can get cold and rainy during the winter, you can always curl up by a gas fireplace (in the newer dorms) with your friends and enjoy cocoa, s'mores, and a good book.
